  1. Farewell

So that's where we leave you for tonight, many thanks to those who stayed with us. Enjoy the football tonight - and a word about an intriguing T20 final tomorrow, we'll be starting that at 05:40 GMT so there's a nice early introduction to the day for you. Cheerio now.

  2. Live tonight

    BBC Radio 5 live

Don't forget 5 live comes from Stamford Bridge tonight from 19:00 GMT and there will be full, uninterrupted commentary with John Murray, joined by former Republic of Ireland international Andy Townsend,

  3. Post update

Plenty available for you across the website today, Spanish football writer Andy West previews tonight's big match at Stamford Bridge and former Wigan winger Kevin Kilbane reviews last night's events at the DW Stadium, claiming that win was bigger than the 2013 final.

  4. Wigan launch pitch invasion investigation

Chairman David Sharpe says Wigan will work with the Football Association and police to review that pitch invasion after the famous win over Manchester City.

  5. Chelsea dominate recent meetings

There have been no defeats for Chelsea in the last seven meetings with Barca, however, and the Blues memorably eliminated the favourites 3-2 on aggregate in the 2012 semi-final en route to lifting the trophy.

  6. From the history books

Tonight's match is the 13th Champions league meeting between the teams, making it the fifth-most played fixture in the competition. Chelsea won the first, 3-1 in the first-leg of the 2000 quarter-final, but were then hammered 5-1 after extra time in the return leg, the first of three defeats in the next four matches against Barca.

  7. Ninth time lucky?

Chelsea v Barcelona (Tuesday, 19:45 GMT)

Now the maestro Messi has faced 37 different clubs in Europe from 16 countries and Chelsea and Liverpool are two of the seven he has failed to find the net against. So far against the Blues it is 655 minutes of football spanning eight games without a goal. Will that continue tonight?

Pete C: Phil Neville (saved by Schmeichel) v Arsenal in 99 FA Cup semi learns nothing by giving away identical penalty to send England out of Euro 2000 v Romania.

  9. Conte loses sleep ahead of Barca test

Despite the relatively modest recent records of the Barcelona star forwards, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted to trouble sleeping in the build-up to the big match at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea lost their League Cup semi-final against Arsenal in January and followed that with Premier League defeats against Bournemouth and Watford.

The are safely through to the FA Cup quarter-finals after beating Hull 4-0, but Conte said: "In these days after the game in the FA Cup, I must be honest... it was a bit difficult to sleep well.

"When you have to play this type of game, you have to prepare. You have to prepare everything. You have to prepare big things, but the smaller details too."

Derek, Holland: Team told they're buying success. Team suffers shock defeat. Team told you can't buy success. City fan, but hats off to Wigan.

  11. Suarez lacking bite in Champions League

Barca have only reached the Champions League semi-finals only once in the last four seasons and another of their stars in need of goal is former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who has failed to score in the last 791 minutes of play in the competition.

Rohan: Norwich’s endless Premier League to Championship to Premier League is pretty stunning. Usually we’re too good for the Championship and not good enough for the Premier League. We need a new league in between...

Messi is yet to score in eight appearances against the Blues.

Gib: Chelsea every other season and their manager talk/pressure taking centre stage over the football.

  16. 'They had one shot'

I think we were all keen to hear what Pep Guardiola made of things last night but he was relatively calm, mildly bristling, but not combustibile, after the defeat. "Congratulations to Wigan, they had one shot." Is that where the interviewer should come back with, "I think you'll find they had four shots, Pep, two on target"? no, probably not.

Guardiola adds: "we created more chances, even with 10 against 11."

  17. 'Best night in football'

Wigan's Max Power, who could surely win a razor sponsorship deal with a name like that, in suitably jubilant mood. I like the addition of the words "in football."

  19. A different sound

A slightly older Wigan fan, though still a fine figure of a man, TV & radio's Stuart Maconie, warns listeners that his BBC 6 Music programme may sound a little different today.
