Manchester City Women 1-2 Chelsea Ladies

Yet. Another. Chelsea. Chance.

Fran Kirby plays a fine ball into the path of Crystal Dunn on the left, but the American winger never looks totally comfortable, despite a decent first touch, and spanks the ball over the bar from 10 yards.

Manchester City Women 1-2 Chelsea Ladies

It comes to nothing. Claire Emslie's ball into the box from out wide is easily cleared.

Manchester City Women 1-2 Chelsea Ladies

A set-piece chance for City now...

CLOSE!

Manchester City Women 1-2 Chelsea Ladies

That really should have been 3-1 to Chelsea.

A great headed chance from a corner but Millie Bright somehow sends it wide from six yards.

She should have doubled her goal tally for the season in one game.

Chelsea have a corner...

Manchester City Women 1-2 Chelsea Ladies

A surprise move by City, bringing off the influential figure of England international midfielder Izzy Christiansen.

She's not been at her best today though and makes way for teenage striker Georgia Stanway.

It's a pretty comfortable save by the home keeper.

Manchester City Women 1-2 Chelsea Ladies

What do Chelsea do here? Stick or twist?

It's not normally in Chelsea boss Emma Hayes's make-up to protect a lead.

With that in mind there are plenty forward as Crystal Dunn, Erin Cuthbert and Fran Kirby all take turn to threaten in behind.

Chelsea really have missed some chances. Will it cost them?

Manchester City Women 1-2 Chelsea Ladies

The home side look a different side.

HT: Manchester City Women 0-2 Chelsea Ladies

A look at the stats says a lot more about this match than the scoreline alone.

To say Chelsea have pressed more is an understatement, as they have taken 14 shots and controlled 60% possession at the Academy Stadium. Not a lot of visiting teams can boast such dominance.

Four of those Chelsea shots were on target and crucially, one from Millie Bright and a second from Ji So-Yun found the back of the net.

In contrast, Manchester City have mustered a grand total of two shots, with just one on target.

One goal and it could change of course.

HALF-TIME

Manchester City Women 0-2 Chelsea Ladies

That's it for the first half. It's been all Chelsea and they thoroughly deserve their 2-0 lead.

The league leaders have been hugely impressive.
