  1. See you in a bit...

They sure do, they sure do. And it has got a point on the board already. Can Iceland qualify from Group D? You'd better believe it.

Thanks for your company today. You'll be wanting this page here for Denmark v Peru which kicks off at 17:00 BST...

  2. 'We have a clear identity'

    Argentina 1-1 Iceland

Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson: "We played our defence brilliantly, we knew that they would have 60 or 70% possession and it is difficult to defend against that. But all credit for their hard work. There was nothing in their game that surprised us.

"We are bluntly honest about our ability, We know how we can win football matches. It is just a fact that Argentina have superior individuals with superor skills and if we go one-on-one with them you don't need to ask who will win the game. We have to play in a special way and we have a clear identity."

  3. "Are you Ronaldo's uncle?"

Yes, Cristiano Ronaldo hit out at Iceland's lack of ambition after the two sides drew 1-1 at Euro 2016.

The Real Madrid player also refused to shake the hands of the Iceland players after the group match in Saint-Etienne.

"I thought they'd won the Euros the way they celebrated at the end," he said two years ago.

    Somebody just asked the Icelandic goalkeeper why they celebrated so much and he answered;

    "Are you Ronaldo's uncle?"

  4. 'I had a good feeling he would go this way'

    Argentina 1-1 Iceland

    Penalty save

Iceland goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsson: "For me as a goalkeeper to play for Iceland and face the best player in the world at a penalty is a big moment and a dream come true to save it, especially as it helped us get a big point which I hope is going to prove important to us. It is our goal to qualify.

"I did some homework. This was a situation which I knew could come up. I looked at a lot of penalties from Messi and had a good feeling that he would go this way today."

  5. Post update

"We were very slow on the ball," says Jorge Sampaoli. He also says that his side do have the offensive creativity to move into the next stage.

Jay: It must be hard being Aguero in this Argentina team. He scored a wonderful goal and, except for those 5 minutes, all talk has been around Messi's lack of form.

Centurions: No doubt Aguero would have scored that penalty.

  7. 'Leo is committed'

    Argentina 1-1 Iceland

Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli: "To evaluate and characterise Lionel Messi's work is difficult because it was an uncomfortable match for him. Iceland played very defensively, blocking all spaces but we did everything we could to win. Leo is very committed to Argentina."

  8. Not the worst omen

    Argentina 1-1 Iceland

    Cameroon
    Image caption: Remember this...

Argentina failed to win their opening match at a World Cup tournament for the first time since losing to Cameroon in 1990. They eventually reached the final of that edition, losing out to Germany.

    Argentina 1-1 Iceland

    Tim Vickery

BBC Sport South American football expert

Argentina played into Iceland's hands. They kept looking to play through the eye of needle. With a Jorge Sampaoli side you expect more from the flanks, two v ones out wide and players looking to get in behind.

Matt: Iceland should be automatically allowed to every World Cup along with the hosts. Their fans are amazing and their players give everything

James: If Iceland can do it with a population of 300,000, why can’t Ealing?

    Alfred Finnbogason
  15. 12th time lucky?

    Argentina 1-1 Iceland

    Lionel Messi

  16. 'Iceland believe in themselves'

    Argentina 1-1 Iceland

    Pat Nevin

Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

I'm absolutely delighted for Iceland. A team that puts that amount of effort in is extraordinary. Interesting at full time, did they run about as if they won the World Cup? Did they celebrate with the fans? No they just turned to each other and said 'good point in the bag.'

That's a team that believes in themselves.
