  2. Man Utd score four to beat lowly Fulham - read the report

    Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

    Manchester United

Manchester United recorded their biggest Premier League win of the season as they swept aside bottom-of-the-table Fulham at Old Trafford.

The victory - United's first in five league matches - moved them up to sixth in the table and lifted some of the gloom that has enveloped the club.

The hosts took the lead after 13 minutes when Ashley Young bustled his way into the penalty area and curled the ball into the far corner past Sergio Rico.

Marcus Rashford set up Juan Mata for United's second, before Romelu Lukaku finished from close range from Mata's low cross.

Substitute Aboubakar Kamara pulled one back with a penalty after he had been fouled by Ander Herrera, but Claudio Ranieri's side were soon reduced to 10 men when Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa was dismissed for two bookable offences.

England striker Marcus Rashford sealed United's victory with a powerful strike from a tight angle that beat Rico at his near post.

  3. What now for Pogba?

    Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

    Simon Stone

    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Paul Pogba has been left kicking his heels on the bench before, against Brighton last season for example, which came after he had been left on the bench for a Champions League game against Sevilla.

However, it seems Jose Mourinho is looking to plot a way forward without his £89million record signing.

A situation worth watching that one.

  4. FULL-TIME

    Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

All too easy for Manchester United. They hit four and move up to sixth.

For Fulham, they need to improve and very quickly. They are bottom, with the worst defensive record in the Premier League A lot of work for Claudio Ranieri to do.

  5. 'Rashford just needs some loving'

    Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a really sweet strike from a difficult angle. Rico was guessing a bit as to whether it was going to be a cross. It was just blistering pace and power that took it past his near post.

  6. Post update

    Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

    Three minutes of added time.

  7. Is Dalot the heir to Gary Neville spot?

    Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

    Simon Stone

    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

On Wednesday, Jose Mourinho sent a message to Gary Neville that Manchester United had got their right-back slot sorted for the next 10 years in Diogo Dalot.

The 19-year-old has been brilliant today and given club captain Antonio Valencia is out of favour and Ashley Young, who is a converted winger anyway, seems better on the left, Dalot has a good chance of cementing the slot for the rest of this season at least.

  8. SUBSTITUTION

    Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

Rashford has his goal and is now off. Scott McTominay comes on. He has a chance straight away but heads at Sergio Rico.

  9. GOAL - Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

    Marcus Rashford

Game over. Marcus Rashford gets a well-deserved goal. He catches Sergio Rico off guard, with a strike from just outside the box from a narrow angle. Rico punches the ground in frustration as he gets done at his near post.

  10. GOOD SAVE!

    Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

Manchester United attack again and once again they are denied by Sergio Rico, who dives full-length to push away Romelu Lukaku's effort.

  11. Post update

    Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

Lovely footwork from Marcus Rashford, who cuts inside a sliding challenge from Alfie Mawson but his strike at goal is well held by Sergio Rico. Ten minutes left for Fulham to produce something sensational, although that red card has rather deflated them.

  12. Promising signs for Fulham

    Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

This second half performance is the way to go for Fulham. You can understand Ranieri’s plan at the start – Manchester United are struggling to score so you try and sit in and go for a stalemate but once the first goal went in it was over.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONS

    Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

A change for either side. For Fulham Ibrahima Cisse replaces Andre Schurrle and for Manchester United Fred comes on for Jesse Lingard.

  14. Say what?

    Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

    Simon Stone

    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

I am not sure Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa knew he had been sent off then.

It wasn't until he went back to referee Lee Probert that he seemed to understand what was happening.

Claudio Ranieri and Jose Mourinho had a chat about it on the touchline but it seemed good natured, even if they did't reach a consensus.

  15. 'I don’t think it was a bad foul'

    Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

    Mark Lawrenson

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don’t think it was a bad foul for the sending-off. I saw this referee the other week in the Championship and he was average at best. The glimmer of hope for Fulham has gone in a matter of minutes.

  16. RED CARD - Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Fulham)

    Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

A foul on Marcus Rashford means Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is shown red after he was booked in the 31st minute for a foul on Lingard.

If Fulham are to fight back in this one, they will have to do it with 10 men.

  17. GOAL - Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

    Aboubakar Kamara (Fulham, penalty)

He won the penalty and he scores the penalty. Kamara calmly slots the ball into the bottom corner. Game on!

    Aboubakar Kamara goal
  18. PENALTY to Fulham

    Manchester United 3-0 Fulham

Ander Herrera brings down Aboubakar Kamara. Penalty to Fulham. It looks like Herrera gets the ball, but collects Kamara on the followthrough.

  19. Post update

    Manchester United 3-0 Fulham

Nearly four. Another excellent ball into the box from Diogo Dalot and Jesse Lingard just can't get a touch. The ball is kept alive and Marcus Rashford links up with Juan Mata, who shoots wide. United have been excellent today, with Dalot among those catching the eye.
