  1. Post update

The only way is up for Northern Ireland.

That's it from us, you can read the report on the game here while my colleague Shamoon Hafez will be here from 6:30pm with build up to England's Nations League opener against Spain.

    Cheerio.

  2. 'More positives than negatives'

    Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill: "Delighted with the performance, I thought we dominated the game. We should have had a penalty early in the game, in the second half we were well on top and it looked like we were going to get 1-1 but then conceded a disappointing goal.

"Overall there were a lot more positives than negatives. There was not a performance from any of the players we were disappointed with at all. The only real thing we could have done better was maybe our final ball."

  4. Post update

Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis: "There were a lot of positives to take from the game. We have definitely played a lot worse and won. We made a fast start, there was a good energy to the team today. We need to be a lot more clinical in the future."

  5. The stats

    • This was just the fifth competitive home defeat that Northern Ireland have suffered under Michael O’Neill, following losses to Israel and Portugal in 2013 and Germany and Switzerland in 2017.
    • Since a run of five consecutive victories between March and September 2017, Northern Ireland have won just one of their last eight games (D2 L5).
    • Bosnia and Herzegovina have won back-to-back games in all competitions for the first time since March 2017, having won 3-1 against South Korea in their previous outing.
    • Northern Ireland have lost three of their last four home games (W1), as many as they had in their previous 21 on home soil (W12 D6).
    • Northern Ireland have conceded in four consecutive home fixtures for the first time since March 2013 (a run of seven games).
    • Three of Northern Ireland’s last four goals in all competitions have been scored in the 86th minute or later.
    • Despite losing the fixture, Northern Ireland had 26 shots (inc. blocks) compared to just five for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Indeed, the away side scored with two of their three shots on target in the game.
  6. 'NI were dominant'

    Stephen Craigan

Former NI defender on BBC Radio Ulster

It will hurt at the minute but Michael O'Neill will be pleased with the overall performance. It was a dominant display from Northern Ireland.

  7. 'Two sides to it'

Northern Ireland's Jamal Lewis: "Great performance from the lads, I don't think I have played in many games as one sided as that.

"There were two sides to it - we are very frustrated but at the same time it is promising that we are playing good football and creating a lot of chances."

  8. What next in the Nations League?

Northern Ireland have two away games up next - they take on Austria on 12 October before visiting Bosnia-Herzegovina three days later.

  9. 'We were brilliant in the first 20 minutes'

Northern Ireland goalscorer Will Grigg: "I think we won't play much better than the first 20 minutes, we were brilliant. It was just one of those days, it wasn't to be.

"It is great to be back involved. It was nice to get a goal but the whole point of today was to get the win."

  10. 'We paid the price'

Northern Ireland's George Saville, speaking to Sky Sports: "Massively disappointed. We dominated the first half, two sloppy goals, errors from us and they get punished at this level.

"I think it was a penalty early on, I felt contact, but we have to take chances and we paid the price today."

  11. 'Pleasing performance'

    Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

    Stephen Craigan

Former NI defender on BBC Radio Ulster

They lacked a little bit of composure in the final third but, overall, I think Michael O'Neill will be pleased with that performance.

  12. Rate the players

    Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

    .

I suspect the ratings won't reflect the result - you can rate the players of both teams right here.

  14. Post update

    Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

It was not to be but plenty of positives for Northern Ireland to take from that. Ultimately they were just a clinical finisher away from victory.

Will Grigg to start the next game?

  15. FULL-TIME

    Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

No grandstand finish as Bosnia-Herzegovina hold out for the win.

  16. 'Good instinctive finish'

    Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

    Stephen Craigan

Former NI defender on BBC Radio Ulster

Grigg is always alive around the six-yard box and it was a good instinctive finish. It wasn't pretty but it doesn't matter.

    Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

... Ollie Norwood's delivery is headed away but Northern Ireland regain possession. A cross comes in from the left, it's headed down and Will Grigg is there! But he just can't get his toe to it.

    So close.

  19. GOAL - Northern Ireland 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

    Will Grigg

    Back on fire!

Will Grigg stabs in from close range after Ollie Norwood cut the ball back inside the box. Now, is there enough time to snatch an unlikely equaliser?

  20. Post update

    Northern Ireland 0-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

The 90 minutes are up and there will be six minutes of time added on.

There's a few cheers of encouragement, but surely finding two goals in that time is a task beyond Northern Ireland. They are starting to look leggy after all the pressing they have done in this game without reward.
