  1. Goodbye

Follow the EFL/Carabao/League Cup draw on this page now.

That will be followed by Burnley v Olympiakos. The Europa League draw is tomorrow. Thankfully I'm not in for that one.

  2. Post update

This live page is coming to an end now, but check out all the details of today's draw thisaway.

  3. Post update

    Group ABCD
    Group EFGH
  4. Post update

In case you've forgotten what exactly the groups look like...

  5. Post update

They haven't announced when any of the specific group games are happening yet.

Patrick Burns: A good name for Group D would be "the Group of Dearth"

    A reminder...

Group D: Lokomotiv Moscow, Porto, Schalke, Galatasaray

A friend messaged me to suggested it can still be a group of death if all four teams are fairly equal - even if they're not top teams. Not sure about that.

  7. Post update

It's only 25 minutes until the League Cup draw starts - that will take place in another page that I'll link to nearer the time.

I suspect BBC Sport HR know they can't put me through another draw today.

Daniel Sidi: Here are the distances to travel for English clubs in the Champions League: All distances in miles - Man City 2986, Man Utd 2335, Liverpool 2751, Tottenham 1548. Source: airmilescalculator.com

  9. Post update

    But I'm not.

  10. Post update

Thanks for all your positive tweets earlier and comparing my cynicism to Terry Wogan! For a fellow Limerickman, that's pretty much as high as praise gets.

If I was going to be mature, I'd also say thanks for the critical tweets and DMs too.

  11. Post update

The Champions League group stages start on 18 September and run until 12 December.

There is a change this season - with games not being played at 19:45 BST anymore.

Most games will kick off at 20:00 BST, but two group matches every day will start at 17:55 BST - so get ready to leave work quickly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

eligreen: Liverpool vs PSG. Salah, Mane, Firmino vs Neymar, Mbappe & Cavani. Mouth watering!

Terry Murphy: all English fans need to actually look at the coefficients, all clubs got a pretty good draw other than missing out on L Moscow.

Joe Dempsey, Lancashire: Cristiano Ronaldo coming back to Old Trafford. Pogba playing against his former club. Lots of interesting permutations. Until Young Boys were drawn I was getting very twitchy. Valencia finished three points and a place below Real Madrid in La Liga last season and Juventus are one of the tournament favorites. NOT a kind draw.

  13. Post update

PSV Eindhoven got the toughest draw possible - Barcelona, Tottenham and Inter Milan.

Gracenote head of sports analysis Simon Gleave says: "PSV have drawn the toughest possible opponent from each draw pot according to the Euro Club Index ranking. PSV were the weakest team in pot 3."

  14. Post update

Anyone up for some Champions League statistical analysis?

  15. Post update

The first time since 2013 (Franck Ribery) that someone other than Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi has won that award.

  16. 'I'm excited and proud'

Luka Modric: "It's an incredible moment for me - I'm excited and proud. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, my club, my team-mates, my coaches who support me in my good moments and less good moments. This award belongs to them too.

"My father is the person who took me to my first training session and pushed me to fight for my dreams and never give up. I owe him a lot for everything."

  17. Post update

Uefa's men's player of the year is Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric.

  18. Post update

    Or Mohamed Salah...

  19. Post update

    It's not Cristiano Ronaldo!
