  4. Fine result for Booth's side

FT: Somatio Barcelona 0-2 Glasgow City

    Andrew Southwick

BBC Scotland at Tsirio Stadium, Cyprus

Scott Booth will be a very happy man. It was 2-0, but it could have been more. Kirsty Howat also had a goal chalked off while she and Abbi Grant both hit the woodwork.

Somatio Barcelona showed flashes of their quality, but City made their experience at this level tell.

  5. FULL-TIME Somatio Barcelona 0-2 Glasgow City

What a brilliant win for Glasgow City. A goal in each half earns Scott Booth's team their first-ever knockout stage victory in Europe, and gives them a very firm grip on this last 32 tie.

Hayley Lauder prodded the visitors ahead just three minutes into the match. Somatio came roaring back, but it was City who had the better chances. Kirsty Howat had a goal disallowed while Abbi Grant, an outstanding attacking presence, struck the crossbar.

Somatio lost captain Rita Akaffou to a second yellow card just before the interval, but City skipper Leanne Ross was sent-off soon after half-time, apparently for taking a free-kick before the referee's whistle.

Leanne Crichton sealed the win with a cracking header seven minutes before full-time.

  6. Five minutes added on

    Somatio Barcelona 0-2 Glasgow City

There's a fair old chunk of stoppage time, chiefly reflecting the lengthy delay following Leanne Ross' controversial red card.

City are happy to keep possession and see out the final few minutes. They're on the cusp of a famous win.

  7. Post update

    Somatio Barcelona 0-2 Glasgow City

And Somatio too make their final change, in which Victoria Zampa comes on for Krystyna Freda, who hasn't had many opportunities in attack

  8. Storming City deliver top performance

    Somatio Barcelona 0-2 Glasgow City

    Andrew Southwick

BBC Scotland at Tsirio Stadium, Cyprus

It's beautiful timing from Leanne Crichton, who peels away from her marker and plants a header beyond Anna James-Buhigas.

This has been one of City's best-ever performances in Europe, certainly away from home.

  9. Post update

    Somatio Barcelona 0-2 Glasgow City

Scott Booth makes his final change of the afternoon. Jenna Clark replaces the outstanding Abbi Grant.

  10. GOAL Somatio Barcelona 0-2 Glasgow

    Leanne Crichton

She might have missed a sitter earlier in the half, but Leanne Crichton has come up with the goods and surely sealed Glasgow City's first-ever away knockout victory in the Champions League.

Crichton rises to meet a fine Nicola Docherty delivery with her head and double City's lead. Two away goals - a precious, precious advantage in this last-32 tie.

  11. GREAT SAVE!

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

Another massive, massive chance on the break for City. Kirsty Howat races clear, one-on-one with James-Burhigas, but the striker is indecisive, and denied by the advancing Somation stopper.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

Krystyna Freda beats two City defenders, and her teasing cross drifts over Alexander, onto the top of the crossbar and over.

  13. Ten minutes remaining...

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

Ten minutes on the clock. Ten players on each team. Glasgow City are clinging on to their slender lead, and remain on course for their first knockout-stage away win in the Champions League.

  14. It's getting noisy in Limassol

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

    Andrew Southwick

BBC Scotland at Tsirio Stadium, Cyprus

More fans have streamed in after kick-off, many more than the 60 that were in at kick-off. Perhaps people are turning up after work - it is just after 18:00 here now - and there are also children waving huge flags in the corner.

  15. YELLOW CARD

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

Yet again, Abbi Grant is brought crashing to ground by Fatou Coulibaly, and this time, the Somatio defender is booked. This is becoming quite a feisty match.

  16. City hit by 'incredibly harsh' red

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

    Andrew Southwick

BBC Scotland at Tsirio Stadium, Cyprus

The referee did warn Leanne Ross to wait for the whistle before taking the free-kick, then handed out the yellow card when her instructions were ignored.

But, it's incredibly harsh. I've never seen a player sent off for that.

  17. GREAT SAVE!

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

After her captain trudges off, Nicola Docherty steps up to take the free-kick. She curls it in on goal, but it's well tipped away by James-Buhigas.

  18. RED CARD Leanne Ross

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

    Wow...both captains have been sent-off!

Leanne Ross is shown a second yellow card, apparently for taking a free-kick before the referee blew her whistle. The City players appear to be protesting that they heard a whistle from the crowd.

    It's 10 v 10 for the final 20 minutes.

  19. Electric Elloh

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

Rebecca Elloh is still sparking panic in the City defence whenever she surges forward. The tricky midfielder goes close again at Somatio break, leaving several defenders in her wake.

  20. Post update

    Somatio Barcelona 0-1 Glasgow City

Water break number two takes place, as both teams make substitutions.

Megan Foley comes on for goalscorer Hayley Lauder, still working her way back to full fitness following a calf strain. Lidija Kulis replaces Lara Ivanusa.

The home side have brought on Marilena Georgiou for Antri Violari, who hasn't seen much of the ball in attack today.
