  3. The best of tonight's stats

Bournemouth have now lost just one of their last 16 EFL Cup matches against lower league opposition, drawing three and winning the other 12, including each of the last five.

There were just 99 seconds between Onel Hernandez’s equaliser for Norwich and Steve Cook’s winner for Bournemouth.

Burton Albion have won each of their last three League Cup games against sides from a higher division – they had lost their previous three such games.

Lewis Grabban has been directly involved in 10 goals (9 goals, 1 assist) in his last 10 games in all competitions for Nottingham Forest.

  4. 'Pretty special'

    Burton 3-2 Nottingham Forest

    Nigel Clough

Burton manager Nigel Clough speaking to Sky Sports: "To get to the last eight as a League One club is pretty special.

"If we had finished our chances in the first half the game would have been over, but it showed great character to come out and do it again.

"We had a makeshift back four tonight so we thought we might have to score three times...

“To get to the last 16 was a hell of an achievement. We’ve had our breaks but we’ve earned them and to be in the last eight is wonderful. We can’t wait for the draw."

Can Burton get to the semi-finals? "We did it at Sheffield United. It is possible. You need a bit of luck, like we had tonight."

  5. Post update

    Burton 3-2 Nottingham Forest

Burton striker Liam Boyce on Sky Sports: “I had a couple of half chances and the penalty but we are getting goals from everywhere. The football we are playing at the moment is brilliant.

"We’ll take anyone at home and we’ll hopefully get into the semis."

  6. Post update

    Bournemouth 2-1 Norwich

    Mark Mitchener

    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

An entertaining game which came to life in the second half - Norwich huffed and puffed a lot, and must feel they should at least be lining up for a penalty shoot-out by now.

  7. 'Definitely my goal!'

    Burton 3-2 Nottingham Forest

    Burton Fraser

Burton midfielder Scott Fraser on Sky Sports: “Ah no, the first goal is definitely mine! It’s definitely not an own goal!

"The first goal in any game is crucial so thankfully I put it away. I've had a lot of chances in the league but not taken them this season so thankfully I got two."

  8. Post update

Burton midfielder Scott Fraser was told his goal wasn't actually his goal in an interview after the game. It's been put down as an own goal.

  9. Post update

    FT: Bournemouth 2-1 Norwich

    Steve Claridge

Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live extra

In the second half, Bournemouth came more in to it but Norwich kept coming back at them and that chance at the end for Jordan Rhodes... I don't know how it didn't go in.

    Bournemouth 2-1 Norwich

It's all over in Bournemouth. Norwich gave it everything but Steve Cook's goal proved to be the winner.

Bournemouth are into the last eight for the third time in the last five seasons.

Poor Norwich, it just won't go in!

  13. CLOSE!

    Bournemouth 2-1 Norwich

Artur Boruc drops it from the resulting corner but recovers in time to clear. The ball is then fired back in and substitute Jordan Rhodes has a great opportunity to head it in from a few yards out but misses the target.

You'd have backed him to score! He was completely unmarked... what a miss!

  14. Post update

    Burton 3-2 Nottingham Forest

Burton have the ball down by the Forest corner flag. They are edging closer.....

Nottingham Forest win a corner - is a dramatic comeback on?

  18. Post update

    Bournemouth 2-1 Norwich

    Mark Mitchener

    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

Seven minutes of stoppage time signalled, to general incredulity here.

But we've had six substitutions, a couple of bookings, the Onel Hernandez goal celebration somersault took up at least a minute, there was the Francis injury... it all adds up.
