Josh Earle: What a result for Spurs, especially under the circumstances with Kane going off injured. Clean sheet is huge. Score at the Etihad and City need 3. Pochettino proves his brilliance once again.

CelebCelery: Think Tottenham probably deserved that. Strangely muted from MCFC and don't understand why Sane/De Bruyne subs made so late. Guess Pep knows what he's doing.

  2. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Man City

It's been a long time coming but Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was built for nights like tonight.

A battling and spirited performance by Spurs who lost their captain Harry Kane to injury and survived an early Manchester City penalty.

  3. Rate the players

You can rate the players from both games up until 30 minutes after full-time.

    Tottenham 1-0 Man City

    Free-kick to Manchester City.

Swung in by Kevin De Bruyne and fisted clear by Hugo Lloris before being lifted over the bar.

    Surely that's City's last chance.

  6. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Man City

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

I just looked down to the technical area and Pep Guardiola is pointing at his head as if to say 'play with your heads, don't concede a second'.

  7. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Man City

Still playing at Tottenham where the home side are moments away from a memorable win.

    Liverpool 2-0 Porto

    Job done.

    Liverpool 2-0 Porto

The lesser spotted Xherdan Shaqiri is on the pitch!

  10. Post update

    Liverpool 2-0 Porto

Into the dying moments at Anfield.

Liverpool have ridden their luck at times but they will be confident of finishing the job in Portugal next week.

Chris Clarke: Hmmm....for me, Son was offside. He kept it in but I think he was offside. And they said VAR would stop arguments in the pub....

Ash Williams: City starting to look lethargic. They don’t look like a team that could get an away goal.

Scott: Pep doesn’t get too much wrong but his line up tonight was just odd. Reminded me of when he was at Bayern and got dumped out of CL.

  15. Post update

    Liverpool 2-0 Porto

    Danny Mills

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

That should be a red card. It's a naughty one. I have definitely seen red cards given for that.

    Mo Salah
  16. Post update

    Liverpool 2-0 Porto

Mo Salah is a lucky, lucky man.

The Liverpool man goes in late - very late - on Danilo and catches the Porto skipper on his ankle.

    Red card?

    Salah survives.

  17. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Man City

No Harry Kane on the pitch.

Sixteen points behind City on in the Premier League table.

But Spurs are leading Pep Guardiola's side in the Champions League.

Absolute scenes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

    Son Heung-min

Sulaimon Adelekan: Sonaldo!!!! Rises to the occasion again. Another for the new stadium.

Even Mitchell: Son Heung-min, what a guy

O Cube: Messi factor becoming clearer. Seems Pep cannot win the CL anymore. Even IF City go thru, this flat performance will not survive it.

  19. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Man City

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

He does really well. It looked like he had overrun it but he kept it in, dragged it back and then smashed the ball under Ederson and this stadium has absolutely erupted.

That is a big, big, big goal.

  20. GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Man City

    Son Heung-min

Cometh the hour, cometh the SON!

Moments after receiving treatment, Son Heung-min is back on his feet and giving Spurs the lead against the run of play.

It's a sublime piece of skill by the South Korean who cleverly keeps the ball in play inside the Manchester City penalty area before cutting back and beating Ederson from an angle.

Should City's keeper have saved that?

It doesn't matter. Spurs fans are celebrating. City are behind.
