  1. That's all folks

    Frank Lampard

Well, that was about as dramatic a conclusion to the final bit of EFL action in 2018 as we could have asked for.

How many people would have predicted defeats for the Championship's top two at the start of today?

We'll be back with more of this next year...

So we'll see you all on Tuesday then!

Thanks for your company today and indeed in 2018.

  2. The top six at the end of 2018

    Top six

At the end of another crazy day in the Championship, here's how it looks at the top.

Leeds and Norwich, remarkably, both ended up losing at home, while West Brom also dropped points against Sheffield Wednesday - albeit they did score a last-minute equaliser with 10 men.

Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Derby all won.

  3. The bottom six at the end of 2018

    Bottom six

Look away now, Ipswich Town fans. Your side end 2018 bottom of the Championship - although you already knew that'd be the case before the start of play, of course.

Millwall were the big winners among the bottom six, beating Nottingham Forest to pull three points clear of danger.

    FT: Norwich 3-4 Derby

James Ballantyne: Surely the cardiac doctors in East Anglia are on overtime.

Aleksander Pagels: That's 29 goals in the last 5 games at Carrow Road. Almost 6 goals per game. Madness

Again, just ridiculous. Norwich City's season ticket holders are probably just about getting value for money, I'd say.

  5. Championship full-time headlines

    Norwich v Derby
    • Derby produced two brilliant comebacks to beat second-placed Norwich 4-3. The Rams scored two late goals after the match was delayed following floodlight failure at Carrow Road.
    • Hull City shocked leaders Leeds United at Elland Road, defeating Marcelo Bielsa's side 2-0, while promotion-chasing West Brom needed a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday.
    • At the bottom of the table, Ipswich lost 2-0 to Middlesbrough and Millwall moved three points clear of the relegation zone by beating out-of-form Nottingham Forest 1-0 to heap further pressure on Aitor Karanka.
  6. League One full-time headlines

    • League leaders Portsmouth were involved in a seven-goal thriller away to Joey Barton's Fleetwood, coming out 5-2 winners as Town finished the match with 10 men.
    • Elsewhere at the top, Sunderland were held to 1-1 draw at home to Shrewsbury, while Luton's away trip to Walsall finished 2-2.
    • There were also big wins for Bradford, Doncaster and Peterborough over Rochdale, Gillingham and Accrington respectively.
  7. League Two full-time headlines

    Sol Campbell
    • Lincoln City end 2018 top of League Two after a 2-1 victory against struggling Cambridge United, who had led in the first half.
    • Second-placed MK Dons squander a 2-0 lead to draw at Northampton, while Mansfield in third are held to a goalless draw by Swindon.
    • Notts County end the year bottom of the EFL despite drawing with Bury, while Sol Campbell's Macclesfield remain in the relegation places after losing against Carlisle.

    Norwich 3-4 Derby

Run of the mill, mundane, quiet win for the visitors...

I said about eight minutes in that this could be a cracker but I did not envisage this remotely.

The hosts raced into a 2-0 lead only to be pegged back by half-time.

Teemu Pukki looked to have scored the winner when he made it 3-2 with nine minute to go before the floodlights went out ant the players were taken off the pitch for 15 minutes.

When they were brought back on the Rams scored twice in the delayed final few minutes to snatch an incredible win.

Oh, and home striker Jordan Rhodes hit the bar with the last kick of the game. Amazing.

  9. Post update

    Derby County lead!

Jack Marriott pinches the ball and finishes well to put the visitors in front for the first time in the game!

  12. Post update

    Norwich 3-3 Derby

Norwich throw on Jordan Rhodes for Teemu Pukki as they look to grab what would surely, surely be the winner.

  13. GOAL: Norwich 3-3 Derby

    This game takes another turn!

Florian Jozefzoon scuffs in a late leveller for the visitors.

Still waiting for play to resume at Carrow Road after a section of the floodlights went out.

What an end to 2018 in the EFL!

    Millwall 1-0 Nottm Forest

Ryan Tunnicliffe's overhead kick early on is the difference between the two sides.

Aitor Karanka's Forest are now winless in their last five.

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Ipswich

    Boro v Ipswich

Middlesbrough get back to winning ways but it's a miserable end to the year for bottom side Ipswich.

    QPR 0-0 Reading

Not one of 2018's best matches although the hosts did come close to an opener through Toni Leistner, who hit the crossbar twice.
