And I'm definitely signing off now. Goodnight.

  2. Game postponed

Our man in the stadium has told us the game is definitely off for the night.

Looks like it will be played at 20:00 GMT (5pm local time) tomorrow.

Good luck to all the security staff getting all these River fans out of the stadium now. And good luck to everyone involved in tomorrow's attempt.

I'll be back tomorrow with live text commentary of the game (presuming it does happen). See you then.

SMS Message: The game in South America just shows humans take football far too seriously. It's just a game to enjoy. It should never be dangerous. Fifa should ban the fans for 2 years. Teach them all a lesson. If this was happening in the premier league. Imagine the outrage. Those away players are literally putting their lives at risk. For what? from Mr Hartley, Leeds

Whistles in the stadium as news filters through that the game is off. Conmebol (the organisers) haven't made an official announcement yet on social media or their website. But I'm not actually certain they're going to at this stage.

  5. Post update

Some reports that the game will kick-off at 5pm local time, 20:00 GMT, tomorrow. Still waiting for official confirmation of that.

  6. Game off?

A big twist here. Journalists at the game are now reporting that the game has been suspended. More when we get it.

  7. Post update

Videos now emerging of River Plate fans clashing with police outside the stadium.

What's wrong with people. At the end of the day it's just 22 guys kicking a football around...

  8. Post update

This would make it a 22:45 GMT kick-off, but again no confirmation of anything basically.

  9. Post update

Obviously the game isn't kicking off now. There was some chat about it being moved to 22:30 GMT, but there was no official confirmation of that.

    Who knows?

  10. Post update

River Plate v Boca Juniors (22:15 GMT)

Four minutes to go. Officials are apparently out on the pitch now.

But no actual definitive proof this game is going to start then. Neither side have announced a starting line-up yet.

  11. Post update

River Plate v Boca Juniors (22:15 GMT)

Still no sign of any team sheets and this game is meant to start in just under 10 minutes.

  12. Post update

River Plate v Boca Juniors (22:15 GMT)

Here's a photo of Boca Juniors midfielder Pablo Perez and defender Leonardo Balerdi returning from hospital to El Monumental with eye patches.

Andrew Priestley: Disgusting scenes emanating from Argentina. Mindless violence has no place in sport, but the fact FIFA and the other governing bodies seem to be actively ignoring it is arguably worse.

  14. Quiz: Players to conquer Europe and South America

River Plate v Boca Juniors (22:15 GMT)

Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez is one of nine players to win the Copa Libertadores and Champions League.

In fact he would be the first to win the Copa Libertadores before and after the Champions League if they win today.

Can you name the other eight here?

  15. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Atletico Madrid move into second place in La Liga, one point behind Barcelona. They would have been top had they held on.

  16. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Barcelona are unbeaten in their past 17 La Liga games against Atletico Madrid (W12 D5).

  17. Post update

River Plate v Boca Juniors (22:15 GMT)

As far as we know, this game is still going to kick-off in half an hour.

But there's so sign of any team line-ups yet.

  18. FULL-TIME

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

It's all over. We had 15 minutes of a game. I enjoyed the 15 minutes, shame about the 75 of build-up.

  19. YELLOW CARD

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Barca sub Rafinha is booked for something. Where was all this action earlier on?
