  9. 'Liverpool were seven points ahead'

    Man City 3-1 Arsenal

    Manchester City

Pep Guardiola on title rivals Liverpool, who play West Ham on Monday: "I understand pressure, pressure to win the games. After the game in Newcastle, Liverpool were seven points ahead and now they are two.

"Of course they have to play, they have quality, but West Ham are a good side. Now we have tomorrow to start again and think about Everton and after Chelsea. It is a tough week for us and we go game by game."

  10. Post update

    Man City 3-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Unai Emery to BBC Match of the Day: “Last week we won and were with Chelsea in fourth position, but we lost today, lost this position.

"But we are going to go game by game and thinking 'win the next match' and maybe if we win we can take the opportunity in the near future to be near the other teams and play with this motivation.

"The difference between City and us is like this result. We need to do our work. Not a big frustration at moment, the result is the difference."

  11. Post update

    Man City 3-1 Arsenal

    Manchester City

Pep Guardiola on Aguero's goalscoring: "He was born with that talent, he will die with that talent."

  12. 'We need big help'

    Man City 3-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Unai Emery to Sky Sports: “They showed their superiority in 90 minutes. They held their level in 90 minutes and our level in the second half was worse than the first.

“Our challenge now is the next week, continue to work and improve, and think how we can work and be better.

On their top four chances: “After losing 3-1 it's not easy to say that, but know we need big help.”

John, Bournemouth: 2-1 down at half-time and in the second half Arsenal didn't have a single shot. Not one. I don't care how good the opponent is; not having a single shot in 45 minutes when you're the losing team is a disgrace. Emery being found out.

Milo, London: Emery's insistence on keeping our most creative player on the bench when creativity is our main problem is insane. There's no way we're making the top four like this.

  14. Post update

    Man City 3-1 Arsenal

The average position graphic shows you how much City played on the front foot.

They are unbeaten in seven consecutive top flight fixtures against the Gunners for the first time.

  16. Emery's Guardiola struggles continue

Unai Emery is winless in all 12 competitive fixtures as a manager versus Pep Guardiola (D4 L8).

Joaquin Caparros, who has managed several La Liga clubs, (D3 L10) is the only manager to take charge of more competitive matches against Guardiola without ever winning.

Dan Ricketts: If Arsenal are going to play two up front (which we probably have to with our defence) we have to create chances for them. How many have been created for them today? Zero. It is going to be a very interesting summer

SMS Message: Same league position, 2 points better off than this time last year, out of the FA Cup, out of the League Cup. Someone remind me of the progress Arsenal have made post-Wenger? from Chris, disenchanted Arsenal fan, Woking

  18. Post update

    Man City 3-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno to Sky Sports: "It was the worst start for us, but the reaction of the team was very good. But then we conceded at the worst moment just before half-time."

  19. Post update

Not sure if Chris Sutton doesn't count headers as goals. Suspect he might have a few chalked off his career tally if that's the case.
