    Here's the match report.

We shall see you all in the morning.

  2. 'Sarri will be gone by 9am tomorrow'

    Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Sarri won’t survive tonight. Well he might until 9am tomorrow. If he does survive tonight, do you have to question the owner's ambition?

I remember Sarri saying we'll be better in the second half of the season. He’s done himself so much damage with the things he’s said. You can’t be beaten 4-0 by Bournemouth and humiliated by Man City. He signed Jorginho. They’re a one-trick pony.

  4. 'Worrying times for Chelsea'

    Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Former Chelsea striker on BBC One

It's worrying times for Chelsea. They've got important matches coming up and they need to pick themselves up. Without the ball they showed no reaction, no hunger to get the ball back. It's all nice with the ball, but they didn't create.

  5. 'Apathy around the place'

    Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Jonathan Overend

Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

There’s an increasing apathy around the place. When you turn up to your club who have won trophies recently and you’re watching this. It’s comfortable for Man Utd. Chelsea have given it a go you could argue, but it’s all come through Eden Hazard. A minute ago he was moaning to Marcos Alonso 'why am I having to do your work at left-back?'

  6. Post update

Good night from us - I'll leave you with some choice reaction...

  7. 'The fans support us in every moment'

    Chelsea

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta: "It has been a tough night because we didn't convert our game into chances. We are disappointed, we are eliminated, we are the holders.

"It is a frustrating night. It has been a tough night for everyone but we know that the fans support us in every moment.

"We are used to winning trophies, we have been the most successful team in England for the last few years. The only thing I can say is that we will give everything, we will work hard.

"We have the Europa League and the final on Sunday. Hopefully we can keep calm, starting on Thursday and win a trophy on Sunday."

  8. 'Sarri has got some serious thinking to do'

    Lee Dixon

Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Off tonight's performance something has to change. And if Sarri is reluctant to change the personnel or tactics, or maybe put some young players in, you have to say the owner will look at this and say where can we go from here?

Sarri has got some serious thinking to do. The team are not responding to anything he does.

  9. 'We played confusing football'

    Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Chelsea

Video caption: Higuain header flashes wide

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri speaking to BBC Sport: "Tonight we were unlucky because we played a very good first half and at the end of the half the score was 2-0. We gave them a few opportunities. We played confusing football in the second half. After the first half it wasn't easy to play with that score. We played very good first half.

"I feel the pressure for results of course, not about something else.

"We have to work, we have to speak, we have to find more aggression and determination in both boxes."

  10. Post update

    FT: Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer

Former England captain on BBC One

It was a no-brainer for United, bringing Solskjaer in. The fans loved him. He has changed the mood of the whole football club. You can tell with the reaction of his players.

They had a disappointment last week [and it was as if he said] 'let's see what you have got lads. Do you want me to get the job?'

    You saw the result tonight.

  11. 'Confidence isn't there'

    John O'Shea

Former Manchester United defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Alarm bells are ringing when Sarri said he can’t motivate his players. Obviously performance wise, you were hoping to see a reaction but it was so flat.

The confidence isn’t there but they’re good players. But they’ve been in that cycle of management change and restart again. Let’s wait and see.

  12. 'Sarri will be sacked for numerous reasons'

    Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

History tells us the Chelsea owner doesn’t mess about. You’d have to question his appetite If he doesn’t sack the manager. He’ll get the sack for numerous reasons – things he’s said, that he can’t motivate the players, his inability to be able to adapt and change.

They’re a one-trick pony. Everyone knows the way they are playing. That will ultimately be his downfall.

  13. Post update

Maurizio Sarri opens his interview by saying that Chelsea were 'unlucky.'

  14. 'Only positive was a brew'

    Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Lee Dixon

Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

The fans let the players and manager know how they were feeling. The night fizzled out. The tactics, we know what will happen from minute one to minute 90. Sometimes it works. When it doesn’t work, they look awful.

The midfield look terrible without the ball right now. The defence is shell-shocked. They’re not scoring goals from midfield. When you’re leaking goals and not scoring goals, your confidence is low and the tactics don’t really change, there’s no positives tonight apart from the work-rate of Hazard.

He wasn’t in the game much, they nullified him. They nullified Chelsea’s tactics which teams are doing now. Where Mata played in that false number 10 role, dropping on the back of his heels and nicking the ball off him and crowding him out. They split the centre forwards to hold the back four back and that worked.

Their midfield was more industrious and their runs weren’t checked by anybody. There are no positives tonight. Not one positive, apart from the cup of tea at half-time.

  15. 'It's a difficult situation'

    Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Chelsea

Chelsea forward Pedro: "It was a big opportunity for us to stay with the supporters but now it is a difficult situation. A difficult day for us.

"In the second half it was so difficult for us. Now the most important thing is to stay calm and prepare for the final on Sunday and the Europa League.

"We have to believe in ourselves and this team, we have great players."

  16. 'Chelsea shouldn't sack Sarri'

    FT: Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Phil Neville

Ex-Man Utd and England defender on BBC MOTD

Winning a trophy on Sunday might drag Sarri out of trouble. I don't think they should sack him now. He plays good football, it is a little predictable.

He has brought in four players and needs another four or five and he has to keep Hazard. He needs to bring in quicker players who can play his style of football.

  18. Post update

    Phil Neville

Ex-Man Utd and England defender on BBC One

Sarri is stubborn. But stubbornness can get you the sack.

  19. 'Something needs to change at Chelsea'

    FT: Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd

    Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Former Chelsea striker on BBC One

Chelsea are in trouble. Something needs to change.

The balance in midfield is not right.

Sarri sticks to his beliefs. That is the system he wants to play, fair enough, but something is not right in that midfield. Chelsea are not creating enough for the strikers.

Too much is on Hazard's shoulders and when they don't have the ball they don't look a top side. They look really open and that is a bigger problem.
