Do not fret though. We've got more World Cup action coming up for you very shortly. Join my colleague Shamoon for Canada v Cameroon in around half an hour.

    It's goodbye from me!

  2. 'Japan didn't create an awful lot'

    FT: Argentina 0-0 Japan

    Casey Stoney

Manchester United Women manager on BBC Two

It was a disappointing start for Japan, especially with the opposition they were playing against. Before the game, it was almost a case of how many will they win it by? But they didn't - and they didn't create an awful lot either - and that will be the most worrying thing. They had a lot of entries into the final third but didn't do an awful lot with it.

    FT: Argentina 0-0 Japan

So, we've got to wait until Friday for our next taste of Group D action. That seems so far away!

    Japan v Scotland (14:00 BST)

    England v Argentina (20:00 BST)

  4. 'Argentina stuck to their game plan'

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

    Laura Bassett

Former England international defender on BBC Two

Argentina were fantastic. I'll be the first to admit, I didn't expect that result at all, but all credit to them, they thoroughly deserved it.

They stuck to their game plan and showed discipline, commitment, communication - you could see that they were managing the game.

Here's how Group D looks after that one.

Phil Neville and Shelley Kerr will have enjoyed it...

  6. Post update

    FT: Argentina 0-0 Japan

    I don't think anybody was expecting a 0-0 there.

I tip my hat to Argentina, but Japan will not be happy with that one.

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Well that was hardly a classic.

But it's an historic moment for Argentina. There are hugs, and a few tears. That means a lot.

Their first ever World Cup point. They deserved that.

  8. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

A humongous sigh of relief from all of Argentina.

A great ball in, but a header is easy for Vanina Correa to hold on to.

    One minute to go.

  9. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Japan are pushing, pushing, pushing. Tension is sky high.

    They get a corner...

Bastian Sdander: If only more teams could be like the Japanese... incredibly dignified.

  12. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Mana Iwabuchi wants a free-kick right on the edge of the box. Referee doesnt want to give it.

Clever feet see her almost through on goal, but her final touch is a poor one as the ball escapes her and she collides into a defender.

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Estefania Banini has been a thorn in Japan's side all day.

She's brought down by Mana Iwabuchi and the Japan forward goes into the book.

From the resulting free-kick, whipped in from the left, Mariela Coronel jumps highest but her header goes wide.

  14. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Vanina Correa gets her first touch of the ball in a while, jumping high to gather a dangerous Japan cross.

As she lands, she cradles the ball like her life depends on it.

    Will. Not. Be. Beaten.

  15. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

    Lucy Ward

Former Leeds United Ladies striker on BBC Two

Japan have not really tried to do anything different, or counter what Argentina have done. Most of the play has been in front of the Argentine back four, it's been relatively easy to deal with.

  16. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Another break for Argentina as Sole Jaimes picks up the ball on the edge of the box.

She shifts the ball on the edge of the box but her shot is once again deflected away from goal and Ayaka Yamashita can collect.

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Argentina make two changes in quick succession.

Florencia Bonsegundo makes way for fellow striker Mariana Larroquette.

Then, Lorena Benítez comes off for Mariela Coronel.

  18. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

    Lucy Ward

Former Leeds United Ladies striker on BBC Two

There is a temptation for Argentina to throw bodies forward and see whether they can get that goal, but it has to be tempered and balanced with the fact they've done so well so far to defend against what Japan have to offer and they've not conceded.

  19. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

If Argentina can hold on for the draw, they will be over the moon.

Why? It would be their first EVER World Cup point.

    Argentina 0-0 Japan

Another sub. Midfielder Emi Nakajima off, forward Jun Endo on.
