  1. Bye for now

    FT: West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

Well that was a cracker of a game that certainly kept me entertained and will surely have huge ramifications at both ends of the table come the end of the season.

Credit to Birmingham, who were immense in that first half, but they just could not hold on against a resilient West Brom side who look invigorated under James Shan.

Meanwhile, I'll be back tomorrow as the English Football League returns for yet another Saturday jam packed with action as we enter the latter stages of this season.

For now though, thank you for joining us.

  2. Five defeats in a row for Blues

    FT: West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

Birmingham could be just two points above the relegation zone tomorrow, if results don't go their way.

It's increasingly worrying time for Garry Monk's side.

  3. Baggies keep pressure on

    FT: West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

That victory moves West Brom to within four points of an automatic promotion spot.

And they've got to play a number of teams around the relegation zone in their final matches.

It's not too late for an automatic promotion push you know.

    Championship top
  4. A 'massive' three points

    FT: West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore told Sky Sports:

"It's a massive three points but it's also about the performance and togetherness. Momentum is what we need and we got that tonight.

"Jay [Rodriguez] has been fantastic from the spot. To be fair to him he works his socks off. He deserves what he gets as he's been fantastic this season."

  5. 'A couple of months ago, we'd have lost that'

    FT: West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

West Brom captain Chris Brunt told Sky Sports:

"Going two goals behind, we were disappointed from two set plays but it's tremendous character from the lads to go on and win it.

"A couple of months ago we would have lost that so I'm delighted.

"James has come in and taken over in training and the lads have responded well with three wins. Birmingham are hard to beat and break down.

"We can only do our job and put the pressure on those about us today."

  6. FULL-TIME

    West Brom 3-2 Birmignham

All over at The Hawthorns and West Brom have twice come from behind to beat Birmingham.

Can this be the inspiration they need to get their season back on track?

    West Brom
  7. YELLOW CARD

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

Chris Brunt goes into the book for a frantic last-ditch challenge. It's agonising for West Brom now.

  8. SUBSTITUTION

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

A final West Brom substitution is made as Kyle Bartley replaces Jay Rodriguez.

    Not long left now, surely.

  9. Post update

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

There's shouts for a Birmingham penalty as Craig Gardner goes down in a challenge for the ball by Ahmed Hegazi but it's waved away.

Meanwhile, Hegazi collides with Baggies teammate Chris Brunt in another aerial challenge, leaving Brunt needing a spot of treatment.

Time is running out for Blues, now.

  10. Post update

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

A whopping six minutes of time has been added on to this game.

    Can Birmingham take advantage?

    West Brom v Birmingham
  11. Post update

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

There's a bit of a to-do between Hal Robson-Kanu and Michael Morrison on the edge of the Birmingham box and West Brom win a free-kick which is deflected for a corner.

It's eventually cleared away by Birmingham, who could do with launching it upfield. There's not long left to find a point, here.

  12. YELLOW CARD

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

Craig Gardner goes into the book for a, let's say, robust challenge on Hal Robson-Kanu.

The West Brom forward looks pretty dazed after that.

  13. SUBSTITUTION

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

A final roll of the dice?

Birmingham make a double change with Che Adams replacing Isaac Vassell and Jacques Maghoma making way for Jota.

  14. Post update

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

Connor Mahoney tries to force what would have been an impressive turning volley from a deflection off Ahmed Hegazi.

However, the Birmingham winger fires his effort high and wide into the Blues supporters behind the goal.

  15. Post update

    West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

    Garry Monk

Confusion in the Birmingham midfield as a wayward ball goes out for a West Brom throw-in.

Meanwhile, Garry Monk makes a change as Craig Gardner comes on to face his former club as he replaces David Davis.

Can Birmingham find a dramatic equaliser?

  16. GOAL: West Brom 3-2 Birmingham

    Jake Livermore

My word, pick that one out, son!

That is an absolute ROCKET of a goal. A ball goes into the Birmingham box, it deflects off the shoulder of David Davis into the path of Jake Livermore who thunders a low shot from outside the box and into the back of the net.

Somehow, West Brom have turned this game around!

    Jake Livermore
  17. SUBSTITUTION

    West Brom 2-2 Birmingham

West Brom make a substitution as we begin to enter the final stages of this match.

Jacob Murphy comes on for Kyle Edwards.

  18. YELLOW CARD

    West Brom 2-2 Birmingham

Birmingham goalscorer Gary Gardner goes into the book for a challenge on Kyle Edwards and draws the ire of the West Brom supporters.

    It's a feisty game, this.

  19. 'Pretty lively night this!'

    West Brom 2-2 Birmingham

    Ged Scott

    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

It’s been an eventful near two months since Dwight Gayle last found the back of the net for the Albion.

It was 9 February when he got the winner at Stoke, since when he’s had a two-game ban for diving, seen his boss get the sack and Albion disappear out of automatic promotion contention.

It’s been an even longer wait for a goal for Blues striker Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Not since the Villa-Blues game on 25 November had he found the net.

Meanwhile, Jay Rodriguez has carried on scoring pretty consistently. So many of them tinged with controversy too. And Albion’s second equaliser of the night is no exception.

    Pretty lively night this!

  20. GOAL: West Brom 2-2 Birmingham

    Jay Rodriguez (pen)

Jay Rodriguez nails the spot kick and the hosts are back on level terms!

The West Brom man places it to his right with Birmingham keeper Lee Camp going the other way.

Television replays show that the penalty decision was close as Connor Mahoney put the tackle in on the edge of the box, but his trailing leg brought down Conor Townsend. Such a tight call.
