'Pressure comes with the territory'
Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
More from Chris Hughton on the pressure of being three points above 18th-placed Cardiff, with matches against Newcastle, Arsenal and Man City to come:"That pressure is something we've put on ourselves. We've got three games and we have to make sure we get enough points to secure our status in this division. The pressure comes with the territory and we'll have to deal with it."
On going seven games without scoring: "We've found it difficult in the opposition half and the final third. What we have done is got back to ourselves in terms of resilience. We've never been big goalscorers but in whichever way we can we need to get it somehow and we have an opportunity at home against Newcastle on Saturday."
'We've put the pressure on ourselves'
Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton manager Chris Hughton, speaking to BBC Sport: "There are some games where you think the other team are going to open you up and the longer the game went they were pushing bodies forward but I thought we were going to get a point.
"We had opportunities to manage the game better at the end and those are the details that are crucial against a team of the quality of Tottenham."

"We must be confident, the team are doing a fantastic effort after tough games against Manchester City.
"The team are not as fresh as we wanted, not just legs, but minds, so we have to congratulate the players. I'm so proud of them."
'We believed and didn't give up'
Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BBC Sport:"It was a difficult game, we knew how difficult it would be, how tough it is to break down the opposition.
"Brighton were a really brave opponent. The most important thing is we believed, we didn't give up and we tried different ways to score.
"It is three very important points and to be in a good position in the table."

The relegation run-in
Three games left for Brighton, but two of them look to be horrors on paper.
Here are the respective run-ins for Brighton and Cardiff...
'It's in our hands'
Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
More from Lewis Dunk on Brighton's survival hopes: "We're still three points ahead of Cardif, with the same number of games left.
"It is in our hands. we've got tough games, but they've got tough games too."
Dunk 'shattered' by last-gasp defeat
Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton captain Lewis Dunk, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's shattering. You saw the work rate, we put everything into it.
"We blocked, we headed everything, but that one chance passed us. The positives are we showed again we're hard to beat, we've got to keep going.
"Right now it is gutting, but tomorrow we go through it and look at the positives and negatives. Hopefully there are more positives than negatives.
"We were so deep and tired, we couldn't counter in the second half. We needed to take advantage of our set-plays in the first half.
"They had people everywhere and we had to be switched on. It was a tough tough game."
'We have to get a result against Newcastle'
Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton manager Chris Hughton, speaking to Sky Sports: "I can't fault the players' attitude. We're going through a difficult period and we knew it would be difficult but I can't fault what the players tried to do.
"Spurs had chances but the clear ones were minimal. We defended really well and from our point of a view a few better choices on the ball in that last period would have meant we came away with a result.
"It's hard to get up the pitch against them because they have so many quality players. We needed to hold on to the ball better but they pressed well.
"The changing room at the moment is very down because of the manner of the defeat.
"The players will know how hard they've worked to get as close as we did. We're up against a team in the Champions League semi-finals. We put on a gritty defensive performance and that speaks volumes. We have to take that into Saturday against Newcastle and that becomes out biggest game.
"We'll need goals and we need to win the game whichever way we can. Newcastle have been good away from home and have a good system. We have to get a result, whichever way we do it."

A man of the match award is not much consolation for Lewis Dunk.
The Brighton captain, who made an incredible 14 blocks, would have headed bricks away if Spurs had lobbed them into his box.

Seventh time... lucky?
Christian Eriksen's shooting was a bit erratic until he finally hit the jackpot with his seventh attempt of the evening.
No-one on the pitch had more efforts than the Dane, who also had more shots than the whole Brighton team...
'We needed to do something special'
Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs matchwinner Christian Eriksen, speaking to Sky Sports: "I had a few warm-up shots before the goal! I hit it well and saw it fly in.
"It is a very, very good feeling, a tough game, a lot chances, they sat deep, it is difficult to play against against 10 or 11 in the box.
"It is very important to stay where we are, we needed to do something special.
"The results elsewhere recently made us feel like we had to capitalise, we have to keep the pressure on.
"We saw the other results so we knew what was at stake. To stay in our place we had to win, there was no other option."
