I miss these days so much.

  3. Liverpool's Johnson joins Feyenoord

Liverpool under-23 captain and Scotland U21 defender George Johnston has completed a move to Dutch side Feyenoord.

The 20-year-old, who had been at Anfield since the age of nine, played in the U23s' run to the Uefa Youth League quarter-finals.

He also has two caps at U21 level for his country.

  4. Welbeck's goalscoring boots

Danny Welbeck could be a decent signing for Watford. He's scored a few big goals in his career and obviously has experience in two of England's biggest clubs.

Here's a flashback to that goal he scored against Manchester United in the FA Cup on his return to Old Trafford.

Alfi Shipp: Just spotted Dybala at Henry’s Hog Roast, Norwich Market.

Alfi's having a busy day. Was it turkey or beef?

  6. Post update

Oh, Alfi (see 15:37 entry) saw Philippe Coutinho at Morrisons in Norwich so OBVIOUSLY that's where he's going.

  7. Spurs end Coutinho interest

    Ian Dennis

Radio 5 live senior football reporter

Tottenham have ended their interest in signing Philippe Coutinho. They had been looking at bringing in the Brazilian on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

  8. Can he stay fit?

    Watford sign Danny Welbeck

Welbeck left Arsenal after five years at the club this summer and was a free agent.

Watford hope the 28-year-old can have a major impact providing he can stay fit. He was restricted to just 14 appearances for Arsenal last season.

The striker did not play after suffering an ankle injury during a Europa League game against Sporting Lisbon in November.

Prior to joining Arsenal, Welbeck made 142 appearances in six years at Manchester United, winning the Premier League title in 2013.

Matt: Just seen Peter Odemwingie outside Goodison he said he fancies a new challenge and is coming out of retirement!

Quick, has anyone been tracking his flights??

  12. Post update

Gentle reminder that Manchester United have already spent £140m this summer on Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.

They remain in talks with other potential targets but the chances of them being completed before tomorrow's 17:00 BST deadline is slim.

  13. Man Utd halt Eriksen talks

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen's future is still uncertain.

Manchester United have held talks with the 27-year-old but are under the impressive he wants a move to Spain.

And with Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho's role also uncertain, is that a potential destination?

In the meantime, United have halted discussions with Eriksen.

  15. Everton continue Zaha pursuit

    Crystal Palace

There's been no updates on Everton's pursuit of Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, other than that they are still pursuing.

In July, Everton confirmed an initial bid had been rejected but denied making a second players-plus-cash offer.

It will be a nervous end to the transfer window for Palace fans, that's for sure.

  16. Post update

Chris Smalling is actually one of seven centre-backs at Manchester United - following that record £80m signing for Harry Maguire, of course.

He's experienced, having made 323 appearances for United, winning Premier League titles in 2011 and 2013.

Is there a realistic chance of United letting him leave on loan?

  17. Double Everton bid rejected

Everton are stealing the limelight this summer. A more active transfer window than The Athletic.

Today they have had two bids rejected. One was a £30m offer for Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi. The second was a loan offer for Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling.

The Toffees are expected to return with an improved offer for Iwobi - but it is likely to have to exceed £40m to be accepted.

Iwobi is not agitating to leave but is willing to move if a deal is agreed...

  18. Lukaku fined by Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will be fined by the club for missing training without permission.

The Belgium international has trained at his former team Anderlecht for the past two days, although Monday was a day off for United players.

Serie A sides Inter Milan and Juventus remain keen on the forward, who did not play in the Premier League club's pre-season matches because of injury.

Lukaku's agent has also flown to London in an attempt to resolve his future.

There's more from BBC correspondent Simon Stone here.

  19. Post update

Thanks Laura! You've done a cracking job.

The deadline is creeping closer and closer. Plenty of gossip flying around. I'll take you through a quick re-cap of what's happened today.
