Live Reporting

By Emlyn Begley

All times stated are UK

  1. Goodnight

So that's the end of this live page today. A good night for Wales - but less so for Northern Ireland. And a very good night for the Netherlands, Germany, Croatia and Austria.

    Read the match reports here.

See you tomorrow for Kosovo v England.

  2. 'We should have been braver'

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Netherlands

NI boss Michael O'Neill to Sky Sports: "There are things we can be pleased and unhappy about. Frustrating. We started well with chances, but didn't take them. The penalty was a good chance but we didn't take it

"Second half we couldn't get up to the ball enough. They were good in possession. We couldn't get up to create anything. But we didn't lose anything. It's not like we were under so much pressure but we couldn't get much possession.

    "We should have been braver."

  3. 'Unlucky for him, good for us'

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Netherlands

Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk to Sky Sports: "Mixed feelings. We came here to win. We had opportunities but when the whistle went it didn't sink in with most of the players we'd qualified.

"The lads are very happy in the dressing room. We're back at a major tournament.

"It was a very tough game. We knew it would be. We didn't let them create too many chances."

On ex-Southampton team-mate Steven Davis missing a penalty...

"The pitch doesn't help. It's a big stage. He's experienced. It happens. Unlucky for him, good for us."

    On qualifying...

"It means a lot for us as players. Hopefully it means so much to the Dutch people. We have to make sure we prepare very well for a big tournament. We missed the last two. We want to perform well."

  5. 'Confidence going into play-offs'

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Netherlands

NI defender Craig Cathcart to Sky Sports: "We're a little bit disappointed. We knew it would be tough and we'd have lots of time without the ball.

"Nobody has mentioned it [Steven Davis' penalty miss]. He's that type of lad, you don't need to say anything. He's been an unbelievable servant. He's probably the favourite player of everyone in the squad.

"We've got a lot of confidence going into the play-offs."

  6. 'We've gone toe to toe with one of the best'

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Netherlands

Northern Ireland utility man Stuart Dallas to Sky Sports: "We're disappointed we didn't win the game. We're proud of the performance.

"We've gone toe to toe with one of the best teams in the world and could have won the game.

"There are a lot of positives to take into Tuesday against Gerrmany. We've come a long way when we're coming off disappointed we didn't get a result."

On Steven Davis missing a penalty...

"These things happen. Anyone could miss it. Davo has been outstanding his whole career. We all look up to him.

"We had other chances but couldn't take them. It's a good point for us in thne end."

John: what's the point in putting any effort into qualifying? These days you can finish mid group and still get a chance to qualify in a one off game, ridiculous

Former NI defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

When Michael O'Neill sits down and reacts on the game he'll be proud of the players. This game typified O'Neill - organised and lots of energy but lacking a bit of quality against the bigger sides.

Right, that's enough of that. We'll bring you Northern Ireland reaction when we get it.
