  1. Farewell

    Slaven Bilic

And so ends another stellar day in the English Football League with plenty of movement at the top and bottom of the tables across the divisions.

It's the international break next week, as we said, meaning that West Brom go top of the pile for the next two weeks. It's been a fine start for Slaven Bilic's side.

From an eventful opener as Fulham and Charlton shared the points to a hectic day at the top of the Championship, it's been a cracker.

For now, thank you for joining us.

  2. League Two headlines

    Forest Green
    • Forest Green Rovers move top of the table after a 3-1 home win against Crawley Town
    • Exeter slip to second with 1-1 draw at Crewe, while Newport's win against Carlisle lifts them to third
    • Winless Stevenage prop up the table with a 3-1 defeat at Colchester, while Morecambe's poor form continues with 3-1 defeat by Port Vale
    • Scunthorpe come from behind to bag late leveller against Plymouth to pull themselves away from the bottom
    • Oldham draw 1-1 at home to Cheltenham while Leyton Orient record win away at Northampton
  3. League One headlines

    AFC Wimbledon
    • Wimbledon hold on to beat Rochdale 3-2 and pick up their first league win of the season.
    • Leaders Ipswich beat Fleetwood Town 1-0 and second-placed Wycombe draw 3-3 against Peterborough.
    • Rotherham smash promotion-chasers Coventry 4-0, while Sunderland lose 2-0 at Lincoln City.
    • At the lower end of the table, Southend lose 3-1 to Gillingham - a ninth defeat in 11 games - and Shrewsbury beat Tranmere 1-0.
  4. Post update

It was also a manic afternoon in Leagues One and Two.

Here's a snapshot of what happened if you're just joining us...

  5. First win for Stoke

    FT: Swansea 1-2 Stoke

Nathan Jones may well have a drink or two tonight.

It's a first win of the season for his Stoke side at Swansea, although not quite enough to take them off the bottom.

It's worrying times for Barnsley who were thumped 5-1 at Preston.

Reading also go into the international break in the relegation zone following their 1-0 defeat at Bristol City.

    Championship bottom
  6. Baggies go top

    FT: West Brom 4-2 Cardiff

West Brom head into the international break at the summit of the Championship.

Nottingham Forest and Preston fans will also rest easy over the next couple of weeks - they're second and third in the table.

It's tight though - just two points separate the top six.

    Championship table
  7. Post update

Let's see how those results have affected the Championship table...

    Preston 5-1 Barnsley

Some win for Preston thrashing Championship strugglers Barnsley at Deepdale.

The Lilywhites move up into third place with this win.

  9. Post update

That's 36 goals in the Championship today. Not a bad way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.

    Huddersfield 3-0 Hull

Some performance from the Terriers in the second-half after a goalless first.

This win moves the Terriers out of the relegation zone.

    West Brom 4-2 Cardiff

And that Romaine Sawyers goal pretty much wraps up proceedings at The Hawthorns.

West Brom hold off a Cardiff fightback to win.

    Nott'm Forest 1-0 Brentford

Ben Watson's goal gives Forest a deserved win over Brentford and extends their unbeaten run.

    Millwall 2-1 Leeds

    They've held on!

Millwall seal all three points against 10-man Leeds!

    QPR 4-2 Blackburn

QPR bag all three points in West London to get back to winning ways after losing their last two outings.

  15. GOAL: West Brom 4-2 Cardiff

    Romaine Sawyers (90+3 mins)

That's a first West Brom goal for Romaine Sawyers who wraps up victory for the hosts after Cardiff's fightback.

A sigh of relief for the Baggies.

    Bristol City 1-0 Reading

    Job done for Bristol City.

Famara Diedhiou's first-half header is enough for the hosts to send them sixth in the Championship.

Reading slip into the relegation zone.

    Swansea 1-2 Stoke

They've done it! Stoke City have won a game!!!!

It looked like it was going to be another routine win for the hosts when Andre Ayew put them ahead in the first minute.

But Nathan Jones' side fought back with goals from Sam Clucas and Scott Hogan giving them a rare, rare victory.

    Nathan Jones

    Derby 2-0 Luton

A comfortable win for Derby who led from the get go against Luton.

The visitors valiantly fought back before Tom Lawrence wrapped up three points for the hosts.

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Wigan

    Sheffield Wednesday hold on.

Massimo Luongo's second-half strike is enough to give the hosts all three points.

  20. Post update

    Swansea 1-2 Stoke

    Steve Cooper

Stoke have four minutes left to hold on.

    It's all Swansea again.
