Kwong Tse: It's a fantastic start to the season for the six-time European Champions. Not only that but results from rivals have also gone Liverpool's way. You can't win the league after 5 games but you sure can be out of contention in that time.

  5. Djenepo goal gives Saints win over Blades

    Sheffield Utd 0-1 Southampton

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says his side "have to wise up quickly" after they were beaten by Southampton in a tight game at Bramall Lane.

Saints summer signing Moussa Djenepo scored the deciding goal as he brilliantly weaved through the Blades defence before firing home midway through the second half.

But prior to falling behind, the hosts saw a goal ruled out for offside by the video assistant referee when Oliver McBurnie thought he had put them in front shortly after the break.

The Blades have now won just one of their opening five games on their Premier League return.

Burnley players celebrate Jeff Hendrick's late goal

Substitute Jeff Hendrick fired in a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Burnley a point and deny Brighton their first home victory since 2 March.

The Seagulls were set to win it when Neal Maupay volleyed in Solly March's cross at the start of the second half.

The summer signing struck after March and Glenn Murray tested Burnley keeper Nick Pope just before the break.

But Hendrick drilled in a 20-yard strike to keep both sides looking for their first win since the opening day.

Rhys: Let's just remember how many points clear Liverpool were last season and where they eventually finished.

David Robinson: The only people saying Liverpool will win the league is all their rival fans. No Liverpool fans are saying this. It's only September and we all realise there is a long way to go.

    Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham says he hopes this can be "his season" after scoring a brilliant hat-trick - and an own goal - as Frank Lampard's young side destroyed Wolves at Molineux.

The England striker, 21, scored his treble in the space of 21 minutes to make it seven goals in his past three appearances - and is joint leading scorer in the Premier League with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

Abraham joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Dele Alli in becoming only the third Premier League player aged 21 or younger to score two or more goals in three consecutive appearances.

"I hope this is my season," said Abraham, who spent last season on loan in the Championship with Aston Villa.

"I have to keep working hard in every training session, every game. Every game I want to prove myself to the gaffer."
