    West Bromwich Albion remain at the top of the table but Preston and Leeds United are not too far behind them.

    At the other end of the table Stoke City are the big winners, moving off the bottom following victory at Barnsley in Michael O'Neill's first match in charge.

    The Tykes are now 15 league games without a win - their worst run since 1959.

    Middlesbrough edge a point closer to safety after a draw at QPR.

    How it stands

    Here's how the top of the Championship table looks after today's results.

    It's pretty much as you were after West Brom, Preston and Leeds all won.

    Swansea salvaged a point at Sheffield Wednesday to remain in the top four while Fulham move into the play-off places after victory at Birmingham.

    Preston 3-1 Huddersfield

    Another impressive performance from a flying Preston.

    Goals from Jayden Stockley, Alan Browne and a Paul Gallagher penalty sealed Huddersfield's fate despite a consolation from Juninho Bacuna.

    That's three wins in three for the Lilywhites who stay in second while the Terriers drop to 19th.

    Wigan 0-3 Brentford

    Brentford make it three successive wins away from home in some style as they beat 10-man Wigan.

    The Bees finished a man down themselves, with Julian Jeanvier sent off after a fracas. That red came after Wigan's Joe Gelhardt left the field on a stretcher. Chaotic late scenes.

    Barnsley 2-4 Stoke

    Michael O'Neill

    A six-goal thriller at Oakwell, but Stoke were always on top.

    Michael O'Neill gets victory in his first match in charge of the Potters.

    It's a big win against their fellow strugglers as Stoke move off the foot of the table.

    Sheff Wed 2-2 Swansea

    It was all late drama at Hillsborough.

    Morgan Fox's goal on 92 mins looked like the winner only for Ben Wilmot to level it up on 94 mins.

    Andre Ayew put Swansea in front earlier in the game before Fernando Forestieri came off the bench to cancel out Swansea's lead.

    Wednesday looked to be going into the top six in the table but remain just outside in seventh while Swansea stay fourth.

    QPR 2-2 Middlesbrough

    Two goals from Britt Assombalonga helped Boro secure a point after a spirited performance but they remain in the bottom three while Nahki Wells and Jonny Howson (OG) were on the score sheet for QPR.

    Championship leaders West Brom win again to maintain their two-point lead at the top.

    The Baggies are now six unbeaten, while Hull's three-match wining run has come to an end.

    Aleksandar Mitrovic's goal was enough for Fulham to take all three points at St Andrew's.

    That's back to back defeats now for Blues who drop a place to 13th while Fulham move into sixth.

    Patrick Bamford

    Leeds hold on to record a fourth successive home win.

    First-half goals from Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison were enough for victory.

    Millwall close it out and are now 11 games unbeaten against Charlton.

    A second win in three for new Lions boss Gary Rowett.

    The Addicks last beat their local rivals in 1996.
