  1. Goodbye

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Well, that's all from me tonight.

Watford earn their first Premier League win of the season thanks to goals from Gerard Deulofeu and Andre Gray - and despite playing the final 25 minutes with 10-men.

A difficult night for Norwich, though, as Daniel Farke's side slip to the foot of the table.

You can read Steve Sutcliffe's report on tonight's match over here.

We'll be back tomorrow with build-up to Saturday's Premier League action from 11:00 GMT.

    Thanks for joining!

  2. Post update

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Elsewhere tonight, the FA Cup first round got under way as League Two Carlisle United comfortably defeated non-league Dulwich Hamlet.

There are 38 FA cup ties still to come this weekend as League One and League Two sides enter the competition.

And you'll be able to catch highlights and goals from all the ties on the BBC Sport website and app.

  3. 'It was like football on the beach for the first goal'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    Norwich City

Norwich boss Daniel Farke, speaking to BBC Sport: "It (Norwich's start) was a disaster. It was an important game for us. They switched to five at the back and it was difficult to create chances against them so to invite them with such a nursery mistake was a confidence boost for them.

"We had more shots on target but when you make such easy mistakes you can't win in the best league in the world. Tough day for us.

"I was even more annoyed with the easy mistake especially before the first goal. It was a game-defining moment.

"The international break helps us to hopefully get some defensive players back. If I am honest I am not too willing to speak about the players we are missing because I do not want to search for excuses.

"It was like football on the beach before the first goal. Pretty annoyed."

  4. 'This was for the fans'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    Watford

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, speaking to BBC Sport: "We need positive energy and scoring early is how you feed the energy of the players.

"To progress in the right reaction this is the only thing we can do. You can believe in what you are doing but you need results. The first goal of football is to win.

"The players were really strong. They kept their shape and everything was really good. The fans were for a long time waiting, waiting, waiting. This was for the fans, they deserve it.

"We want to play again quickly. Every single match is very tough. No relax, no thinking everything is done. We are there at the bottom and we need to fight."

  5. 'We need to fight and believe'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    Watford

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are working very hard for weeks and weeks but not getting the results. In this match they read very well the situations.

"It made a big difference. We needed positive moments for the players. You score early and the team becomes more strong and more solid. It is what we need.

"It is very good not to concede goals. It is good for us to feel strong and solid. We need to fight and to believe. If we are able to do that we will be able to transmit good positive energies into results.

"I think for us the first feeling is that it is something special for the fans. We wanted to dedicate it to the fans because they have supported for a long time.

"We will work hard until the players are used to this level of performance."

  6. 'We had no cutting edge'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    Norwich City

More from Daniel Farke, speaking to Sky Sports: “We did not have the cutting edge today. We created so many situations, we had something like 20 shots. The cutting edge and also the right decision to play the final pass. These things you can accept but mistakes before the goals you cannot accept. We are playing in the best league in the world and you can’t make these mistakes.

"We were pretty realistic before the season started and we were aware that we were favourite for position 20.

"We show more or less in every game we are competitive in this league, including in this game, but you have to play without easy mistakes, nursery mistakes. If we can play without these we definitely have chance to get points. Otherwise, we are struggling.

"It is of course not easy for the confidence level with seven games without a win. We had the chance today to get the result if we played a bit more solid."

  7. 'We made nursery mistakes'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    Norwich City

Norwich boss Daniel Farke, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are disappointed, annoyed. It was not necessary to lose this game. We dominated possession, had more shots and created more situations. It is a pretty annoying day today.

“My winger cut inside pretty close to our own goal and lost the ball. To concede a goal from this cheers the other guys up. If you start such an important game with such a nursery mistake it doesn’t help the confidence or the mood.

"In football small details make the difference and this was a game defining moment."

  8. Post update

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Here's what Norwich manager Daniel Farke has had to say on that defeat.

Safe to say he's not happy with Emi Buendia for giving the ball away so easily as Gerard Deulofeu handed Watford the perfect start...

Richard Cumiskey: Worried for Norwich. Ever since the Man City result they have been a sinking ship and I worry that Farke could go after this and that may leave them in all sorts of bother. Great win for Watford though.

How do you see Norwich's chances of survival after tonight?

  10. 'We have the talent'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster speaking to Sky Sports: It's been a while, near six months, it's ridiculous. There's only so long you can say its going to come and we're so glad it has tonight."

On manager Quique Sanchez Flores: "He is a great guy, he's full of energy and it's a massive win for him and for the fans - but I'm really happy for him.

"He's exactly what we need at this time, he's full of confidence and he understands we're all human."

On Watford's chances of survival: "We've got the talent and the ability. The confidence has taken a massive hit and this is going to do wonders for it."

  11. Hornets see red

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Victory for Watford, but they didn't half make it hard work for themselves.

And Christian Kabasele's second half dismissal means Watford have received more Premier League red cards than any other side since returning to the top-flight in 2015-16.

They've received 17 in all. Big numbers in four and a bit seasons.

Christian Kabasele is sent off for Watford
  12. Watford climb

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Here's what that victory means for Watford.

They're still not out of the bottom three, but Quique Sanchez Flores' side are now within touching-distance of the rest.

Concern for Daniel Farke, though, as his side remain four points behind Everton in 17th having played a game more.

    Premier League bottom six
  13. 'Today was a final for us'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Watford forward Gerard Deulofeu speaking to Sky Sports: "It's been a long time without the win, now we have to enjoy it.

"We are working really hard and today was a big final for us. It was really important."

  14. FULL-TIME

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    That's it!

Watford climb from the foot of the Premier League table to 18th with their first win of the season.

    Norwich drop to the bottom.

  15. Post update

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Quique Sanchez Flores is still barking orders from the touchline, determined his side will keep a clean-sheet now the points are safe.

What win this is for him.

  16. Post update

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

Ben Godfrey tries his luck now, catching the ball sweetly with a first-time strike from the edge of the box - but it's wide.

17 shots at goal for Norwich tonight, but just five of those have been on target.

  17. 'It is a hard one to take'

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    Pat Nevin

Former Everton and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

If you are Norwich right now it is a hard one to take.

They have been well beaten in terms of chances and that is hard to take tonight. The lack of goals is becoming quite incredible. Two goals in 10-and-a-half hours is not good enough. You need goals to stay up.

  18. Post update

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

    Five minutes added on.

10-man Watford look well on course for that vital first win of the season now.

  19. SUBSTITUTION

    Norwich 0-2 Watford

It's all rather frustrating for Norwich. All the ball but nothing doing in the final third.

    Concerning times for Daniel Farke.

Adam Masina comes on for Watford, in place of Jose Holebas.
