Tomorrow's headlines will be all about Mikel Arteta's first point as Arsenal manager, but Bournemouth played their part too, and it was they who were attacking just before the referee blew the final whistle.

The Arsenal players go to applaud the away fans, there's a special cheer for the black-clad Mikel Arteta, and warm applause from the home fans as Eddie Howe's men return to the dressing room with a point against one of the big guns.

And the rain's just about stopped. Merry Christmas, all.

  10. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-1 Arsenal

    Mark Mitchener

    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

Get your tin hats on for a frantic last five minutes (plus stoppages). The accumulated rain, that's been falling since around the time Dan Gosling put Bournemouth ahead, means players are now slipping and sliding around everywhere, while the tackles are flying in, as both sides look for a winner.

  11. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-1 Arsenal

Bournemouth have the ball in the back of the Arsenal net but it won't count.

Harry Wilson forces Bern Leno into a one-handed save, the ball spins into the path of Callum Wilson who pokes home from close range.

Wilson, however, was clearly in an offside position and Arsenal escape.

  12. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-1 Arsenal

    Mark Mitchener

    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

Mesut Ozil removed his gloves as he was substituted but refrained from kicking them away like he recently did when replaced against Manchester City. He gets a hug from manager Mikel Arteta and takes a seat in the dugout.

Meanwhile, winger Reiss Nelson provokes a few boos from home fans in front of us in the Main Stand. He slowly sinks to the floor, indicating he's injured, referee Stuart Attwell does not stop the game, and having sat on the turf for about a minute, Nelson eventually springs to his feet as if nothing had happened.

  13. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-1 Arsenal

Mesut Ozil's afternoon is over. Joe Willock is on.

Loads of time left to find a winner. Will they do it?

  17. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-1 Arsenal

    Mark Mitchener

    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

It's a calm and measured response by Mikel Arteta as Arsenal equalise - remaining unruffled as several of his coaching staff come off the bench to celebrate with him. The away fans have been trying to encourage the Gunners all afternoon, but have really found their voice now.

Bournemouth's response looks to be readying Harry Wilson to come on.

  18. GOAL - Bournemouth 1-1 Arsenal

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

    Arsenal's captain to the rescue!

Another tidy move by the visitors and this time they make it count as Reiss Nelson's attempt from the edge of the penalty area deflects into the path of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who sweeps it past Aaron Ramsdale.

Mikel Arteta celebrates by raising both arms in the air.

  19. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-0 Arsenal

Mesut Ozil's quality pass finds his captain inside Bournemouth's penalty area but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cannot adjust his feet in time and another chance goes begging.

  20. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-0 Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is desperately trying to claw his side back into this. He fizzes a ball across the penalty area but there is no one on hand to dispatch it into the net. Loads of Arsenal possession but Bournemouth are staying strong at the back.
