  1. Thanks and goodbye

Czech Republic 2-3 England / Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

That's all for this page as England get back to winning ways, but Northern Ireland and Wales play out a draw in their Euro 2021 qualifier.

Thanks for joining us and for all your comments. Until next time, bye for now.

  2. England need late goal to beat Czechs - read the report

    Czech Republic 2-3 England

    Leah Williamson celebrates

Leah Williamson's first international goal rescued a late win for England in a friendly against the Czech Republic to ease the pressure on boss Phil Neville and his side.

Coming into the game with just one victory in seven games, England trailed to Tereza Szewieczkova's finish.

A Beth England volley and Beth Mead's curled shot put the Lionnesses in front, only for Szewieczkova to level. But Williamson's deflected effort in the 86th minute secured the win.

It means England end 2019 on a high note, although this display in snowy conditions in Ceske Budejovice was strewn with the same sloppiness that has become too familiar since losing a World Cup semi-final to the USA in the summer.

Saturday's 2-1 loss to Germany, in front of a record crowd at Wembley, was a fifth defeat in seven outings and the two goals conceded against the Czech Republic, ranked 28 in the world, mean England have now leaked 15 goals in their past eight games.

  3. Frustration for both countries - read the report

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

    Michael Pearlman

    BBC Sport Wales at Seaview

Northern Ireland and Wales had to settle for a point apiece in a result that does little for either side's qualification prospects.

Kenny Shiels' Northern Ireland are still chasing a first win in the campaign, while Wales' hopes of winning the group now seem extremely unlikely.

Both sides had chances to win a tense contest with Laura O'Sullivan denying Simone Magill and Lauren Wade.

Wales' Angharad James saw her side's best chance saved by Rebecca Flaherty.

  4. Post update

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

With it ending in a draw in Belfast, Norway are well clear in Qualifying Group C with 12 points from four matches, with Wales second on eight, Belarus third with three points and Northern Ireland fourth with two points.

Only the group winners are guaranteed qualification for Euro 2021 in England.

  5. 'Stop giving it away'

    FT: Czech Republic 2-3 England

    Sue Smith

Former England forward on BBC Four

Possession. Stop giving the ball away too much, that's something we've got to be better at.

  6. England's New Years resolution?

    FT: Czech Republic 2-3 England

    Laura Bassett

Former England defender on BBC Four

Defending. Defending with a mentality. We've got such a winning mentality but we've got to produce it. I'm talking being ultra aggressive, being hard to beat and being competitive. Just being a really hard team to play against.

  7. 'A fair result'

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

    Laura Rafferty

    Brighton and Northern Ireland defender

Both teams will be gutted because both wanted to leave with three points but I think it's a fair result.

  8. FULL-TIME

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

Not the result either side wanted, but it ends goalless in Belfast and one point apiece for their Euro 2021 qualifying totals.

  9. Post update

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

    Laura Rafferty

    Brighton and Northern Ireland defender

I can't tell you how tense my body is right now!

  10. Post update

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

Some desperate defending from the hosts, who charge down Wales strikes four times in a row.

  12. 'Neither team will give up'

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

    Laura Rafferty

    Brighton and Northern Ireland defender

This is starting to remind me of when the two teams met in Wales. Neither team will give up, they'll keep going until the final whistle.

As I've been watching the standard has been getting better, I'm sure the [Northern Ireland] management is enjoying it. You go to Belarus next and you enjoy it.

  13. Post update

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

Rachel Rowe, on her left foot with a chance to win it for Wales, but she does not connect as cleanly as she would like and home keeper Rebecca Flaherty does well to hold on to the shot.

  14. Post update

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

There was a 94th-minute goal for Northern Ireland as the first match between these sides ended 2-2. The clock is showing 87 minutes, so will there be late drama again?

  15. 'We were careless in possession'

    Czech Republic 2-3 England

England manager Phil Neville: "We got the win, that's what I demanded. We should be beating Czech Republic by more than 3-2. We dominated the second half but we were careless in possession and with the final ball or cross.

"We wanted to finish [the year] on some kind of win. The players have put an unbelievable effort in in the last 12 months. We know the last three months haven't been good enough from the team and me but we shouldn't take anything away from the last 12 months, in terms of where we've taken women's football.

"Now the hard work starts for after Christmas and the SheBelieves [Cup] and getting back to the level they and I know we can achieve.

"It's really important. It's important to win games of football. When I came into the job I said winning was the most important thing and I still believe that. I'm looking forward now to the hard work and getting back to the level I know we can."

  16. Post update

    Czech Republic 2-3 England

Phil Neville's relationship with the media has been a bit frosty recently and let's hear from him now on a very cold and snowy night in the Czech Republic.

  17. 'Putting on the pressure'

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

    Laura Rafferty

    Brighton and Northern Ireland defender

We're putting on the pressure. If you put the ball in the box, one of our players will get there head on it I think.

  18. GREAT SAVE!

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Wales

Lauren Wade has a busy couple of minutes for the hosts. She flings in an excellent cross from the left, but some brilliant defending from Loren Dykes at the near post clears the first attack.

However, Northern Ireland recycle the ball and it goes wide to Wade again on the left wing. This time she goes for goal, well, it might have been a mis-hit cross, but either way Wales goalkeeper Laura O'Sullivan has to back-peddle to push it over the bar.

  19. 'Honest conversations need to be had'

    FT: Czech Republic 2-3 England

    Laura Bassett

Former England defender on BBC Four

The pressure will trickle over into next year. I think a lot of honest conversations need to be had between the group. The players need to watch the last eight games back and just mark themselves on the basics.
