Bernard Clamface: "Fair play to Mourinho for that rant at Ndombele. He's failed to show his worth. 60 million and he is decent for about 5 minutes. Lazy defensively as well. For all Jose faults he is managing a team that isn't his."

  3. Post update

There's quite a list of players that Jose has had a public pop at, isn't there?

  4. Mourinho launches into Tanguy Ndombele

    Simon Stone

    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

When Jose Mourinho says 'I am not going to hide', you can expect something brutal.

He started by saying Tottenham 'didn't have a midfield' in the first-half. He then said he was not being critical of Oliver Skipp in any way.

"Tanguy has had enough time to come to a different level," said Mourinho.

"He has to give us more than he is giving us."

Dave Plummer: Still not given up on Jose. Take the best two players out of any team and they’ll struggle. Son and Kane back in that team would make a massive difference.

  6. 'Players have to cooperate in work on their evolution'

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

More from Jose Mourinho, speaking to Sky Sports, on the reasons behind his double substitution at half-time: "The quality of Lucas Moura and Giovani Lo Celso made a difference in the second half. I want to say but cannot say. We had something in the first half, not in the second.

"In the second we improved a lot. I think fatigue, Lucas and Lo Celso, Alli and Bergwijn had fatigue - they gave what you saw.

"I was expecting players not tired to give more to the team. Somebody has to realise this is the Premier League. It's a new experience, a first time at Burnley. Hopefully next season he (Tanguy Ndombele) can be fantastic."

"I must work to try to improve the team, but coaches need players to cooperate in that work on their evolution and development."

  7. 'The referee changed his performance'

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

Burnley boss Sean Dyche talking to Sky Sports: "A very rare mistake from Ben Mee and you wonder how it would affect things, but we gripped the game and I was really pleased with it.

"We build slowly, we are not the real deal yet. But I think everyone saw a good Burnley side here.

"In the second half, the referee changed his performance. Everything was given for very little, after their staff had a word coming off at half-time.

"I have spoken to the powers that be about players rolling around and no-one is interested. It needs to be looked at, but it won't be. The game needs to be careful."

  8. Post update

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

There's more from Jose on Ndombele to come. Stay tuned.

  9. 'He has to know he has to do much better'

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Jose Mourinho speaking to Sky Sports about Tanguy Ndombele, who was substituted at half-time: "I hope he uses every minute on the pitch and every minute knowing what the Premier League is to improve. Many fantastic players in their first season in a new country for different reasons they struggle. There have been many examples of that. He’s a player with great talent. He has to know he has to do much better and know I cannot keep giving him opportunities to play because the team is much more important."

Temi Kolarinwa: "No doubt, Kane and Son are hugely missed but the Jose appointment is not helping and with the new stadium to pay for, we could do a Leeds."

  12. 'It's two points dropped'

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs goalscorer Dele Alli told Sky Sports: "There was a lot of aggression at half-time, we knew we were not good enough. If you switch off for a second they can punish you. Going in at half time 1-0 down, it was a sticky changing room to be. But we did better and created enough opportunities to win.

"When you are part of a team like this you want to be playing in any position and give 100%. They were probably a bit stronger than me on the ball but I wanted to help the team as much as I could."

On his 50 Premier League goals: "It’s a great achievement, but I’d swap the 50 for three points. It’s disappointing, it’s two points dropped."

On taking penalty against England team mate Nick Pope: "I don’t want to give it away but I knew it was going the other way, the amount of times I’ve scored penalties against him in training I knew I’d go the other way!"

  13. Post update

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

Since he took charge in November, Spurs have picked up 27 points in the Premier League.

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have earned more.

Jolasun: It seems the law of diminishing returns has set in on Mourinho

David: I’ve supported 2 teams. 1. Spurs from 1964 to May 2014. 2. Spurs from May 2014 to Nov 2019.

  18. Post update

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

Spurs end the day in eighth, two points behind fifth-placed Wolves. Burnley are two points further back.

If fifth really will be good enough for a Champions League spot, only six points separate Wolves and 12th-placed Everton.

The race for fifth might the most intriguing part of the run-in.

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

A game of two halves. Probably the right result.
