  1. Cheerio

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

St Mirren weren't at the races in the first half tonight but you have to applaud the way they hit back to overcome Motherwell at Fir Park.

We didn't get the thrills and spills of last week's crazy cup replay but there was plenty to keep us entertained.

We'll have more action tomorrow as Rangers take a 3-2 lead to Braga in the Europa League, so join us for that if you can...

    Good night.

  2. 'We have to keep believing'

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson cuts a frustrated figure as he reflects on a first-half of spurned opportunities.

"I don’t know how many chances we need to win a game of football," he says. "I think we had 14 shots on goal in the first half and goodness knows how many corners. They were always going to come back into the game at some point. They had two chances and scored both.

"We work on our set up all the time from throw-ins, players don't do their jobs from it and we got punished for it again. It’s a run we have to pick ourselves up from. We've had a poor run and we are still sitting third, we have to keep believing and keep working hard.

"We've lost our full front line that was playing a the start of the season, so we are trying to get something else and get Tony Watt up to speed, who I thought did well.

"We’re lucky we've got points on the board already which gives us a cushion and we’ll turn it around. We have to keep believing that we will. I didn’t go ranting and raving in the dressing room because I think they need a bit of an arm around them to encourage them they are still a good side."

  3. 'Massive step towards survival'

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: St Mirren need to think positively. This is a massive step towards survival
  4. 'We need to let this be the catalyst' - Goodwin

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin is understandably delighted with his team's second-half comeback, telling BBC Scotland that it is a "huge win".

"Our away form has been extremely poor and it was a much needed win on the road", he says.

"I’ve got to give enormous credit for my players for the character they showed in the second half. It's not the first time we’ve came from behind to take something. I would’ve been delighted with a point at half time but the way the second half was going we were the better team. We felt Motherwell were there for the taking."

The win moves St Mirren four points clear of 11th-placed Hamilton having played a game less, but Goodwin isn't getting carried away.

He adds: "It's important that we refocus ourselves and look forward to Saturday in the cup and let this be the catalyst now to kick us on in the league."

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

    James McFadden

Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio Scotland

Quote Message: At half time, Motherwell were in control. They need a 90 minute performance. They are still in a good position to finish third
  7. What next?

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

Motherwell get the weekend off to stew over this latest setback, while St Mirren are at home to Aberdeen in the last eight of the Scottish Cup on Saturday.

Next Wednesday, 'Well take on Ross County at Fir Park, while St Johnstone visit Paisley.

  8. 'Huge win for St Mirren'

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: In the second half St Mirren looked hungrier and they started to be more creative. This is a huge, huge win. It's like Motherwell have lost confidence. When you look at their form the last eight games it has not been good enough

  11. FULL-TIME Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

The Buddies come from behind to bag just a second away win in the Premiership this season.

Motherwell's winless run extends to six in the league as they remain one point ahead in third place.

  12. Post update

    Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

We're deep into stoppage time and that should be game over as St Mirren sub Junior Morias rakes a shot wide when he had team-mates free, screaming for a pass inside the box.

  13. YELLOW CARDS

    Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

Akin Famewo is booked for wasting time, which is a bit odd given Jonathan Obika is making his way off to be replaced by Junior Morias.

Vaclav Hladky is also cautioned, presumably for his role in the time wasting.

It's hard to keep up with all the late cards.

  14. 'Finish worthy of winning any game'

    Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: It's brilliant from St Mirren and the finish from Ilkay Durmus is worthy of winning any game. It's almost the reverse of last week without as many goals
  15. YELLOW CARD

    Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

Rolando Aarons fires wide as Motherwell look for a response, then a frustrated Declan Gallagher is booked for wiping out Ilkay Durmus.

  16. GOAL Motherwell 1-2 St Mirren

    Ilkay Durmus

    Not so fast, Thommo...

Tony Watt dithers in the box at one end and St Mirren race away to fire in a wonderful goal, with Ilkay Durmus lashing in a powerful strike from 16 yards.

The Turkish winger is then booked for his celebration, not that he cares...

  17. St Mirren happy to settle for a point?

    Motherwell 1-1 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: I get the feeling now that a point might not be a bad thing for Jim Goodwin and St Mirren at a difficult away ground, having fought their way back into the match
  18. Post update

    Motherwell 1-1 St Mirren

Motherwell striker Tony Watt manages to get a header on target but it goes straight into the arms of Vaclav Hladky.

Sherwin Seedorf replaces Jermaine Hylton as the hosts search for a late winner.

  19. YELLOW CARD

    Motherwell 1-1 St Mirren

Ilkay Durmus drills the ball in hard and low and Sam Foley is nearly on the end of it but Peter Hartley makes a crucial block on the edge of the six yard box.

Ross Wallace is then booked for an innocuous looking challenge in the middle of the park.

  20. Post update

    Motherwell 1-1 St Mirren

Jonathan Obika fancies a second goal for the visitors as he does well to get his head on a cross that is slightly behind him but it loops up and lands on the roof of the net.

St Mirren then bring on veteran Ross Wallace for his debut, the former Celtic man taking over from Jamie McGrath.
