The two clubs have reached an impasse
Simon Stone
BBC Sport
Jadon Sancho is viewed as Manchester United
manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main summer transfer target.
However, Borussia Dortmund and United
have reached an impasse over the size of the fee.
Dortmund want around £100m for
the player, including a large up-front payment.
United view that as unrealistic
and does not take into account the financial impact of the coronavirus
pandemic.
The Old Trafford club – who meet
FC Copenhagen in the Europa League quarter-final in Cologne this evening – have
threatened to look at alternatives whilst there has also been a suggestion
Dortmund would offer Sancho a new contract. The 20-year-old’s present deal
expires in 2022.
Dortmund have two games during
their training camp, against Austrian side SCR Altach on Wednesday and Austria
Vienna on Sunday.
BreakingSancho named in Dortmund squad
Time to bring you an update on the Jadon Sancho situation...
The England forward, 20, has been named in the Borussia Dortmund squad
for this week’s training camp in Switzerland.
Dortmund officials had given Manchester United until today
to come up with a suitable offer for the England international.
However, there has been no agreement, so Sancho will be part
of a squad that also contains new signing Jude Bellingham.

Atletico Madrid face RB Leipzig in Thursday's Champions League quarter-final in Lisbon, and the Spanish club say two individuals have tested positive for the virus.
The club said the unnamed individuals are isolating at home.
The positive cases were discovered after first-team players and club staff travelling to Lisbon were tested in Madrid on Saturday.
They will now be retested along with close contacts of the positive cases.

The classiest man in football?
Sticking with the theme of European football, Serie A champions appointed Andrea Pirlo as their new manager over the weekend.
As possibly the classiest man in football, Pirlo has won pretty much everything in the game, and the former midfielder replaces Maurizio Sarri at the helm.
Will Anthony Martial add to his impressive goal tally this evening? Is he a contender for the 2020-21 Premier League golden boot?
