  1. Goodbye

    FT: Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

It's been quite a day. Rangers top the league thanks to their 2-0 home win over Kilmarnock, Hamilton won the Lanarkshire derby with a late goal to sink Motherwell, St Mirren and Ross County scored a goal apiece in their match and, finally, Albian Ajeti finally found a way for Celtic to get past Benjamin Siegrist.

Thank you for your company. Enjoy your evening.

  2. Mellon frustrated but 'pleased' nonetheless

    FT: Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

Dundee United manager Micky Mellon: "I am very pleased for them [my players]. They are a great bunch of lads. I am pleased for them - I don't want to say proud because that's not the right word - we are very frustrated. We have got a lot of talented young players here with big hearts and great desire. We'll keep pushing this football club forward.

"We didn't come here to have our bellies tickled, trust me. I'm disappointed we've lost. We wanted to have right good go at Celtic and we did that. [On goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist] We are blessed to have him here. He is consistent and very calm."

  3. Lennon praises players' attitude

    FT: Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Neil Lennon: "You always have faith in the players. Their attitude was tremendous. They didn't get frustrated, they kept going. We got the goal that we deserved over the 90 minutes. I thought we were outstanding at times today but just lacked a finishing touch. From 25 minutes on we were totally dominant. I think 1-0 flattered United.

"If you are going to have any criticism of the team it's that we didn't score enough goals. [Albian Ajeti] isn't match fit, he hasn't had a lot of football in the past 12 months. Once he gets up to speed I think he'll be a good player for us.

"We're actively looking to bring a couple more [players] in. Whether or not we can get it done by the deadline on Monday, I couldn't tell."

  4. Tomorrow's games

    FT: Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

Gary Holt takes his Livingston team to Pittodrie tomorrow to play Aberdeen at 15:00, while St Johnstone host Hibernian at 16:30. Jack Ross's Hibs can draw level on points with league leaders Rangers with a win.

  5. Tough on United but Celtic kept going

    FT: Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

It's going to be a tough evening for Micky Mellon and his Dundee United players. They defended brilliantly and in Benjamin Siegrist they have a very impressive goalie. Unfortunately for them, they didn't do enough to threaten the Celtic goal and were unlikely to take more than a point at best from the match. Albian Ajeti not only scored the winner but had a hand in its set-up as he jumped to head the ball back in to play after Siegrist had saved Ryan Christie's shot.

  7. Lennon 'got at ' his players

    FT: Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

Quote Message: United always looked as if they were going to run out of gas because they had put in such an effort, but they kept going, and it looked like Celtic were going to run of time. They upped the tempo - you could tell Neil Lennon had got at them at half-time. Not having the big Celtic crowd at Tannadice has taken away a little bit from Celtic. from Pat Bonner Former Celtic goalkeeper BBC Scotland

  8. FULL-TIME Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Neil Lennon allows himself a satisfied smile at the end of the game. The win leaves his team six points behind league leaders Rangers, three behind Hibernian and one adrift of third-placed Ross County. Celtic have two games in hand over Rangers and County.

  9. Quick break by Celtic

    Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

Dundee United have a corner kick. Peter Pawlett takes it and Celtic clear to set up a quick break with James Forrest at its head, which is eventually, desperately thwarted by the home defence.

    Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

We are into injury time at Tannadice, three minutes of them.

  11. Is this the winning goal?

    Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

    Albian Ajeti

  12. Change for Celtic

    Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

Celtic striker Patryk Klimala is on for Odsonne Edouard for the last five minutes.

  13. GOAL Dundee United 0-1 Celtic

    Celtic goal

With 83 minutes on the clock Celtic break the stalemate as sub Albian Ajeti snaps on to a loose ball in the box, after United had withstood two chances in a few seconds, and lashes a shot past Benjamin Siegrist. The Swiss had made a great save but was helpless there.

    Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

A fragmented tangerine wall stands in the way of Odsonne Edouard and the Dundee United net. The prolific striker steps up and curls a shot over the wall and clips the top of the crossbar.

  15. CLOSE!

    Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

Vasilis Barkas and Jeremie Frimpong have a moment's hesitation that encourages Paul McMullan to rush in to try to nick in between the Celtic duo. Celtic survive the scare and attack once more. Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie are in the mix as they work it into the United box. When the ball comes back to the dazzlingly quick feet of Callum McGregor he switches it on to his right foot and curls a shot a yard wide of the United goal.

  16. Changes galore

    Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

Both teams makes a double swap. Louis Appere comes on for striker Nicky Clark and Paul McMullan for Luke Bolton on United's right wing. For Celtic, Kristoffer Ajer replaces Olivier Ntcham, striker Albian Ajeti takes over from Greg Taylor.

  17. CLOSE!

    Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

James Forrest works his way left to right across the 18-yard line and pings a shot that goes only a foot over the United bar.

  18. Barkas called into action

    Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

Vasilis Barkas makes his first save of the game, 68 minutes in, as Jamie Robson smashes a shot from just outside the Celtic box.

  19. 'Right call from referee'

    Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

    Craig Levein

Former Scotland manager on BBC Radio Scotland

Quote Message: It looked like Edouard knew he wasn't getting a shot away and tumbled a bit too easily. No penalty for me.

    Dundee United 0-0 Celtic

A ball over the top and through the middle of the United defence by Christopher Jullien finds Odsonne Edouard. The striker's touch allows the ball to just go out of his range, but a fraction of a second later Mark Connolly pulls him by the shoulder and down he goes. Not a great deal of contact but that's dangerous stuff from the home defence.
