Linfield, who had Kirk Millar sent off, battled hard all evening but it wasn't to be for the Irish Premiership champions as they fall into the Europa League qualifiers.
It's a disappointing result for David Healy's men but the Blues can draw encouragement from the manner in which they conducted their business this evening.
Legia will face either Ararat (Armenia) or Omonia (Cyprus) in the next round while Linfield can look forward to a second-round qualifier in the Europa League.
