  1. Good night

    I can't argue with that...

If you're just dialling in tonight's match reports can be found here, and you can download the latest edition of the Football Daily podcast here.

    Good night!

  2. 'The next Messi or Ronaldo'

    Barcelona 1-4 Paris St-Germain

Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann: "Kylian Mbappe had a great night. PSG has a great star for the future, who will be at the level of Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo."

  3. 'A lot of people were waiting for us to slip up'

    RB Leipzig 0-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to BT Sport: "It was the game we wanted, the game we needed. Leipzig can be a real monster, they overrun teams, they are really physical and tonight we controlled them in an exceptional way. We played a really good game and we got the result we deserved.

"We defended really well and had good recovery. It was a tough game with only two days since the last one. It's only the first leg, we know that but a lot of people were waiting for us to slip again.

"For two years we were really good and this year we have problems, that's fine. A lot of people expected us to slip again but the boys didn't."

  4. Post update

    RB Leipzig 0-2 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock

Ex-Aston Villa and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

If you wrote down on a board what was good about Liverpool tonight you'd say high intensity, good pressing, attitude, creating chances. When I look at performances where they haven't been at the races you look at energy and high intensity which they haven't had.

When Liverpool have those things that creates a dominant performance. It puts you in better areas to in the ball back. Liverpool have struggled to create chances because they've been sat so deep.

  5. Post update

    You don't say Ronald...

  6. 'PSG a more complete team than us'

    Barcelona 1-4 Paris St-Germain

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman: "Surely the result reflects how superior they have been. In the second half we had problems defensively. They proved physically to be very superior to us.

"We have to admit that they have been superior. They have shown that they have a more complete team than us. We have to accept it, improve things. We know that this can happen because we play against a great team. physical team, with experience ... for many things that is ahead of us

"A 1-4 defeat is normally very difficult. I can lie to you but losing at home 1-4 there are very few options.

"The game has shown us that we lack things to be at the best level, especially at the Champions League level."

Jack Chafer: It was bad for Barcelona but I don’t think it’s as bad as people make out. Victim of their own success. I think it’s time Barcelona let Messi go, in a odd way I think they are holding each other back, will regret not selling him last summer...

Daniel Woodley: Wasn't all doom and gloom for Barca tonight. Last time out they lost 8-2 in a European knockout game. This performance was twice as good

  8. Post update

    RB Leipzig 0-2 Liverpool

Jürgen Klopp (42) is closing in on Ottmar Hitzfeld (47) on most Champions League matches won among German managers.

  9. Post update

    RB Leipzig 0-2 Liverpool

The second leg will be at Anfield on 10 March - unless it has to be moved to a neutral venue.

  10. 'Got to be pleased with that'

    RB Leipzig 0-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to BT Sport: "It was an important game for us, a tough game and we're really happy overall. Keeping a clean sheet was important for us.

"From start to finish, defensively throughout the team we pressed really well and won the ball back. A good win but it's only half the job done.

"We kept going and got our reward with the goals - we've got to be pleased with that."

SMS Message: Barcelona are in tatters. And the worrying thing for them is this is even with Messi in the team. Once he leaves in the summer they're going to be in ruins. from Joseph Dempsey
    Joseph Dempsey
SMS Message: Amazing that Barcelona have gone from having a front three of Messi, Neymar and Suarez to desperately bringing on Martin Braithwaite in just a few years. Money wasted on players like Griezmann, Dembele and Coutinho - good players but they all play best in Messi's position. Such bad management and planning. from Dave in Alness

  14. 'Liverpool were comfortable'

    RB Leipzig 0-2 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock

Ex-Aston Villa and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Leipzig are going to cause problems, you don't get to this stage without having a quality team in the tournament and they are a good outfit.

Liverpool rode their luck with their last opportunity but on the whole they were comfortable, they were excellent in their pressing throughout the game.

  15. Post update

    Barcelona 1-4 Paris St-Germain

    Andy West

    Spanish football writer

Ronald Koeman has generally done a good job this season but tonight was a big failure for him. Ability to plan/manage games against top opposition remains questionable.

  16. Post update

Neil Varma: there's a calm skill about Curtis Jones... Almost reminiscent of Ronaldinho. All he needs now is time and to learn how to smile when he has the ball at his feet!!!!

  19. FULL-TIME

    Barcelona 1-4 Paris St-Germain

A remarkable night at the Nou Camp where Kylian Mbappe nets a hat-trick to put PSG in total control of their last 16 tie.

But we know what happened when the two sides last met in the competition.

    Not over just yet.

  20. FULL-TIME

    RB Leipzig 0-2 Liverpool

And that's it. Two clangers at the back gift Liverpool the win.
