  2. 'We got what we deserved' - Grant

    FT: Alloa Athletic 0-3 Dundee

Speaking to BBC Scotland Alloa Athletic manager Peter Grant: "We didn't play well at all tonight. We were always in the game and then we lose the second goal to a set piece. But I'm more concerned with the performance."

"We didn't create enough or play well enough so I thought we got our just rewards from the game, which was nothing."

"The boys have played much better than they did tonight, you can accept losing the game but the performance wasn't good enough."

"These boys have been a credit this season, I can't ask for anything more from them but we will go again next week. We know we have a fight on our hands, we always do in this division."

    Peter Grant
  3. 'Relieved' McPake relishes three points

    FT: Alloa Athletic 0-3 Dundee

Speaking to BBC Scotland Dundee manager James McPake: "Relieved. It gives me a chance to sleep for the weekend."

"We were really disappointed with Tuesday and pleased we had a game quickly. It's a huge three points but I'm delighted for the boys I thought they were excellent"

"We had loads of chances but I was impressed with their character tonight. Paul McGowan in particular. He gave a goal away last week and repsonded well tonight to get two assists. I thought young Anderson was brilliant too and that's eight assists in eight for Paul McMullan."

  8. Adam on

    Alloa Athletic 0-2 Dundee

Charlie Adam finally enters the fray having been dropped from the starting 11 tonight.

Not the man I'd instinctively turn towards to see out a lead but who doesn't love a few 60 yard cross field balls?

  9. Post update

    Alloa Athletic 0-2 Dundee

Sam Fisher celebrates winning a throw-in via a double deflection like he's just scored the winner.

To be fair to the young defender, his side can be very happy with their defending so far tonight.

Adam Brown takes over from Lee Connelly in midfield as Alloa look to get back into the game with 15 minutes left.

  11. Byrne replaces McGowan

    Alloa Athletic 0-2 Dundee

Shaun Byrne comes on for Paul McGowan who leaves the field having collected a solid head knock and two assists.

  12. CLOSE!

    Alloa Athletic 0-2 Dundee

Alloa have responded well to that second goal.

Adam Legzdins is called into a save from a Scott Taggart freekick which could have been creeping into the top corner.

The resulting corner is swung in and Innes Cameron should do better with his header.

  13. Buchanan on for Murray

    Alloa Athletic 0-2 Dundee

That second goal has prompted the first change of the evening as Innes Murray is replaced by last week's match winner Liam Buchanan.

  14. GOAL Alloa 0-2 Dundee

    Lee Ashcroft

    Rinse and repeat for Dundee.

It's another corner and Lee Ashcroft again does well to hold off Andy Graham before heading into the top corner.

Just as Alloa had looked more threatening they're sucker punched by some poor defending again.

    Alloa Athletic 0-1 Dundee

A handball from Lee Ashcroft gives Alloa a great freekick position on the edge of the box.

Innes Murray elects to lay it off before smashing it towards goal. Young Max Anderson sprints out and gets a great block on what looked a goal bound effort.

  16. GREAT SAVE!

    Alloa Athletic 0-1 Dundee

Jason Cummings pounces on a mistake from Liam Dick and bears down into the Alloa box.

One on one with Neil Parry and the goalkeeper does brilliantly to reach out a hand and keep his side in the game.

  18. 'You have to applaud Dundee's reaction'

    HT: Alloa Athletic 0-1 Dundee

    Chris Iwelumo

Former Scotland striker on BBC Scotland

Quote Message: You have to applaud Dundee for the way they've reacted to a poor performance the other night against Ayr. They've started well and dominated the ball. The goal has come too and hopefully now, from their point of view, they can relax into the game a bit more
  19. 'Dundee deserve lead'

    HT: Alloa Athletic 0-1 Dundee

    Leanne Crichton

    Scotland international on BBC Scotland

Quote Message: Dundee have just edged it, they started on the front foot and have shown plenty of intent and energy. All in all, they've deserved their goal but this game is not over by any stretch of the imagination.
  20. HALF-TIME Alloa Athletic 0-1 Dundee

Dundee started brightly and eventually got their reward through Ashcroft's header.

Alloa have shown a few glimpses but are yet to create a chance of real note.

They're by no means out of this yet, big 45 minutes to come.
