Max Verstappen fastest in first practice and Lewis Hamilton quickest in second. After a season of very little between them did we expect anything else on the first day of the final race weekend?
Tomorrow, however, is when things should really hot up as qualifying takes place.
First there's one final session of practice at 10am and we'll be back with build up from 09:30. See you then.

'Mercedes a bit stronger'

Mercedes are a little bit stronger at the moment, they looked it in that session. Both cars very quick over one lap.
On the face of it, Mercedes are looking OK. My emotions are excitement and I don't think we have seen a real knockout blow from either.

Right at the end of the session and Kimi Raikkonen has crashed into the wall at Turn 14 pretty heavily.
He's out of the car and OK but there's a lot of damage to his car.

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are both on the same compound now, with Verstappen averaging 1:28.1 and Hamilton 1:28.6.

Max Verstappen has slapped on a set of mediums for the final three minutes of the session.

Jeremiah Kariuki: The race pace simulations by both Red Bulls and Mercedes, either there is sandbagging or there are mind games going on.
Simon Baker: Although the average speed per lap is far quicker than before, I have to say that I'm sceptical with how good the racing will actually be, taking aside the tension Hamilton & Verstappen will be feeling

Lewis Hamilton is looking for his sixth win in Abu Dhabi although he didn't win it last year.
Instead, victory went to Max Verstappen as Mercedes couldn't get close.
Hamilton is currently five laps into his long run on mediums. Verstappen, meanwhile has been doing his race sim run on soft tyres.

Valtteri Bottas has finished his soft tyre run and is back out now on the mediums, as his Fernando Alonso, who had a flurry of lap times deleted earlier for exceeding track limits.

Lewis Hamilton has another go and he goes fastest of all with a 1:23.691, three tenths quicker than Esteban Ocon and six tenths quicker than title rival Max Verstappen.
