Rugby league is a fast and dynamic game, which involves great strength, stamina and skill, and is played through the summer, so no muddy pitches, or cold, wet training nights!

Whatever your age, gender, fitness level or technical ability there is a version of rugby league that will suit you.

Our friends at Get Inspired have put together a handy guide here which explains how to get involved in the sport.

  3. Preview

    Warrington Wolves v Widnes Vikings

Warrington have captain Chris Hill back from international duty with England for the derby against Widnes.

Kevin Brown and Stefan Ratchford are also included after playing for England against Samoa as Wire look for a fifth straight win at home.

Widnes have a number of new injury problems with Denis Betts forced to make seven changes.

Sam Brooks, Greg Burke, Ted Chapelhow, Jordan Johnstone, Manase Manuokafoa, Lloyd Roby and Liam Walsh come in.

Warrington last won the Challenge Cup in 2012 and were losing finalists at Wembley last year when they were beaten 12-10 by Hull FC.

Widnes have lost five of their last six games and have not won at the Halliwell Jones Stadium since August 2013, with Warrington winning the last six home meetings.

Kurt Gidley has three tries for Warrington so far this season
