What a day of rugby tomorrow.

    20:00: England v Australia

All live on 5 live and 5 live sports extra.

  2. All eyes on England

    New Zealand 43-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

All eyes now on England against Australia and here's Andrew's view...

Quote Message: I don't know how it's going to go, that's the wonderful thing about this World Cup. It is a massive fixture, a gem of a fixture in this World Cup crown. England have to be smart."
  3. New Zealand 43-10 Georgia

Georgia's Davit Kacharava did not stop smiling the whole game - from grinning in the face of the haka to winning the post-match handshake with Sonny Bill.

Ten tackles from him tonight - and most of them marrow-wobbling whoppers.

  4. New Zealand 43-10 Georgia

    Richie McCaw and Sam Cane

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw speaking to ITV Sport: "I have just got a few bruises, nothing a bit of ice won't fix.

"I wish I knew why there were so many handling errors. Perhaps we were trying a bit too hard sometimes rather than taking another tackle and playing through another phase. It is something we have to work on.

"We are timing our run I hope. We are not going to panic. We have seven days to sort some things before Tonga."

  5. New Zealand 43-10 Georgia

New Zealand will have expected the passion and physicality from Georgia.

They will have expected that their superior skills would shine through.

Instead errors cropped up in their game with alarming and uncharacteristic frequency.

  8. New Zealand 43-10 Georgia

Mamuka Gorgodze is awarded the man of the match gong to loud cheers from fans all around the Millennium Stadium.

A thin smile from the big man.

  9. 'Moment of brilliance'

    New Zealand 43-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: No matter how New Zealand are going they can still produce moments of brilliance like that. It won't gloss over what, at times, has been a pretty tough 60 or 70 minutes for them."
  10. Converted try

New Zealand 43-10 Georgia (Fekitoa, con Carter)

A lovely carving line from Malakai Fekitoa, who uses Julian Savea outside him as a decoy, and outstrips the ragged Georgia defence.

Carter converts with a regulation kick right in front.

    Malakai Fekitoa
  11. New Zealand 36-10 Georgia

Georgia bag an interception, grabbing Sam Cane's attempted mis-pass. But the ball spills forward before the crowd can get excited.

  12. 'New Zealand not complacent'

    New Zealand 36-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: I don't think New Zealand have been complacent. You get into a habit of expecting things are going to work out but it hasn't been the case tonight."
  13. Converted try

New Zealand 36-10 Georgia (Savea, con Carter)

    Hat-trick time.

Georgia's game defence runs out of numbers as play switches from the left wing to the right and Malakai Fekitoa slung mis-pass picks out Julian Savea on his own out wide.

He strolls in for his third try of the night. Dan Carter lands one from out wide to improve his own stats.

    Julian Savea
  14. New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

All Black hooker Keven Mealamu, on as a replacement for Dane Coles, lobs his first line-out dart into Georgian hands.

It is going to be an ugly video debrief session for the New Zealanders tomorrow.

  15. New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

Dan Carter has not had the best of games, typifying New Zealand's lack of accuracy.

He punts the ball dead as attempts to find the corner from a penalty.

    Dan Carter
  16. New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

Konstantin Mikautadze, who had a bit of a dust-up with Sam Whitelock a few minutes ago, runs the ball up at pace and wins the collision against some All Blacks who were determined to try and smear him across the Cardiff turf.

Some very tough men in this Georgian side.

  17. New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

The line-out is taken, after a bit of juggle, by Georgia. But New Zealand are in quick and tight behind their driving maul to stop the momentum, keep the ball off the ground and secure the turnover.

  18. New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

Georgia take play up into the New Zealand 22m with a penalty kicked to touch,

    Can they get another try?

    Georgia off-load
  19. 'New Zealand smashed'

    New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: All credit to Georgia. If you get smashed time and again you do start taking a glance up and mistakes creep in."
  20. Replacement

    New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

Sonny Bill Williams is back into the fray. He replaces Conrad Smith and is slotting back in at inside centre with Malakai Fekitoa working at outside centre.

    Sonny Bill Williams
  21. 'Physically tough'

    New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: Steve Hansen knows this is a physically tough game, New Zealand know Georgia have a good scrum and will tackle. But once they wear Georgia down we will see a few more points. That said we are still seeing a few handling errors."

Richie McCaw heads to the bench. He doesn't look very comfortable at all, struggling to put weight on his right leg.

Sam Cane on. And a change in the New Zealand front row as well. Owen Franks on in place of Charlie Faumiuna.

Quote Message: New Zealand haven't looked like world champions in the first two games but they don't have to look like world champions now. It's the end of October when they need to be at their very best."
    New Zealand's Jerome Kaino
  27. Replacement

    New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

A strange switch from New Zealand, who withdraw centre Sonny Bill Williams and throw on back row Victor Vito in his place.

Vito is getting a cram course on backs play during a water break as Ma'a Nonu delivers the bottles and some advice.

  28. New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

A lot to love about this bit of play.

Georgia's centre Davit Kacharava comes flying out of the defensive line at Dan Carter, who has a hospital pass from Aaron Smith to deal with.

Carter does well, slapping on the ball to friendly hands. But that does not prevent him getting planted on the seat of his pants an instant later.

  29. Replacement

    New Zealand 29-10 Georgia

All Black wing Waisake Naholo comes off with Malakai Fekitoa brought on in his place.

    Waisake Naholo
  30. Converted try

New Zealand 29-10 Georgia (Read, con Carter)

Kieran Read burrows for the line - punching through the last line of defence from close range.

Dan Carter flips over the extras from bang in front.

    Kieran Read
  31. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

Julian Savea swerves inside centre Tamaz Mchedlidze and skips in behind the Georgia defence. A tackler gets a grab of his shorts and the New Zealand wing is briefly showing a bit more than a clean pair of heels to the world.

New Zealand cannot force their way over though as full-back Beka Tsiklauri goes low and bumps Waisake Naholo into touch.

    Julian Savea
  32. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

Georgia captain Mamuka Gorgodze is coming off for some rest ahead of the meeting with Namibia.

Konstantin Mikautadze comes on in his place

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

David Wilkie: Players seem to be having a 'who can hit a New Zealander the hardest' competition. Looking up at screen and laughing.

  35. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

A concerned hush descends on the Millennium Stadium as Dan Carter takes a knee and is given treatment for a blow to the back.

Relief. The All Black 10 is up on his feet. It looks like he got squished by Mamuka Gorgodze on the floor.

  36. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

New Zealand's passes are still not finding their target.

Ben Smith snipes though a hole, but his bulleted pass is designed for a speedier back rather than the more workmanlike Dane Coles.

    Ben Smith
  37. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

A change at scrum-half for Georgia as Vasil Lobzhanidze - who became the youngest player in World Cup history when he played in their opener against Tonga at 18 years and 300-odd days old - comes on for Giorgi Begadze.

  38. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

New Zealand work through the phases, probing for a fatal weakness in the Georgia defensive line.

Have they found it out wide? No. Waisake Naholo's foot is in touch after he picks up Kieran Read's pass off his laces and thunders through Alexander Todua.

  39. Kick-off

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

New Zealand begin the second half like they ended the first - with basic errors.

Kieran Read knocks on as he attempts to claim the kick-off.

After tonight's match, New Zealand will conclude their Pool C campaign with a match against Tonga on 9 October.

Presuming they progress as group winners, they are likely to face the losers of that crunch meeting between Ireland and France at the top of Pool C.

  44. 'All Blacks masters of their own demise'

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: With all due respect to Georgia, they are willing and they are gritty, the All Blacks are masters of their own demise. They will be looking for an improved effort in terms of the mistakes they have made."
  45. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

A hugely impressive performance from Georgia. Decidedly less so from the All Blacks.

I thought four years ago, at home and with a 24-year trophy wait to end was when New Zealand were supposed to play like nervous wrecks.

They look distinctly jittery so far today.

    New Zealand v Georgia
  46. Half-time

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

  47. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

More All Black errors. Sonny Bill Williams spills forwards and gazes up to the heavens for inspiration.

The Millennium Stadium roof is in the way though.

  48. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

The All Blacks cut loose from deep. Dan Carter pops the ball up into a pocket of fresh air out of the tackle and scrum-half Aaron Smith swipes it with one hand.

Smith darts between two tacklers, but his chip over the full-back drifts out on the full. Would have been nice.

    Aaron Smith
  49. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

Georgia are behind on the scoreboard, but they have won the moral battle in this half.

Sonny Bill Williams spills the ball forward as he runs a straight crash line. Georgia fly-hack forward and fly-half Lasha Malaguradze shudders full-back Ben Smith with a beast of a tackle.

    Sonny Bill Williams
  50. 'New Zealand will be annoyed'

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

    Andrew Mehrtens

Former New Zealand fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

He's made it to the commentary box...

Quote Message: New Zealand don't want to get caught up with the score or get too far ahead of themselves. They are judging themselves on their own standards and they will be pretty annoyed about Georgia scoring a try."
    Giorgi Begadze
  51. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

Georgia are testing the referee's patience. They slow up the new Zealand recycling with some skulduggery and captain Mamuka Gorgodze gets a talking to.

New Zealand kick the penalty into the corner.

  52. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

Georgia are defending manfully on their line. Still just 12 points the difference.

And the All Black set-piece is not the slick machine they would hope.

    Georgia defend
  53. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

Davit Kacharava was laughing it up during the haka. The Georgia outside centre is grinning again after burying opposite number Conrad Smith with a whopping hit.

    Big.

  54. 'What an atmosphere'

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

    Chris Jones

BBC 5 live rugby commentator at the Millennium Stadium

Quote Message: Roof shut, the noise levels go up...Cardiff is crackling. The noise is really enormous. I have never seen a Mexican wave like it...80,000 people in unison."
  55. New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

Georgia's pack take the scrum down so low that their noses are practically scraping the dirt.

New Zealand can't cope, tail-spinning back before popping up for air.

Penalty to Georgia and back-slaps all round from the big men in red.

  56. Post update

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

New Zealand are sniffing around the whitewash again. Mamuka Gorgodze's big shoulder dislodges the ball from the grasp of Kieran Read as he attempts to piledrive his way over the last few metres.

Knock-on. Georgia with a scrum in the shadow of their own posts.

  57. 'Another Carter miss'

    New Zealand 22-10 Georgia

    Chris Jones

BBC 5 live rugby commentator at the Millennium Stadium

Quote Message: Dan Carter missing three of four kicks is not ideal."
    Dan Carter
  58. Try

New Zealand 22-10 Georgia (Coles, missed con. Carter)

Bonus point bagged with a little over a quarter of the match done.

The All Blacks are allowed to stay on their feet in the tackle, Georgia stopping the man, but not the ball. Sonny Bill Williams and Conrad Smith slip off-loads out the sidedoor and the momentum continues, sucking in red shirts.

Huge overlap and Richie McCaw draws the last man before popping in hooker Dane Coles, moonlighting on the wing.

    Carter's kicking boots still missing.

    Dane Coles
  59. New Zealand 17-10 Georgia

Georgia's front row are crumpling their All Black counterparts like the San Andreas fault.

But the All Blacks' offloading is picking holes in their defence.

  60. 'All Blacks beginning to stir'

    New Zealand 17-10 Georgia

    Chris Jones

BBC 5 live rugby commentator at the Millennium Stadium

Quote Message: That was done at a canter. New Zealand are just starting to get a foothold in this game."
  61. Try

New Zealand 17-10 Georgia (Savea, missed con Carter)

The scrum wheels and Dan Carter realises that Georgia's back row have been twisted out of position.

A thrust down the left wing and Sonny Bill Williams picks a peach of a mispass - perfectly timed - to put Julian Savea in for his second try of the match.

Dan Carter is off target again with the conversion.

    New Zealand 12-10 Georgia

I don't think coach Steve Hansen will be too impressed with his side so far.

Five handling errors so far - the latest seeing Waisake Naholo spilling forward Dan Carter's pass when he clearly thought he was the decoy runner for Sonny Bill Williams.

    Steve Hansen
  64. 'Battling Georgia'

    New Zealand 12-10 Georgia

    Chris Jones

BBC 5 live rugby commentator at the Millennium Stadium

"The neutrals in here are buoyant and the Georgia fans are beside themselves."

  65. Penalty

    New Zealand 12-10 Georgia (Malaguradze)

Mamuka Gorgodze is a giant slab of torso. The Georgia skipper gets over the tackled All Black first and it would take dynamite to shift him.

The referee blows for hanging on and Lasha Malaguradze steps up to boom over a penalty from just inside the All Black half.

A mighty kick and the All Blacks are getting a game here.

    Lasha Malaguradze
  66. 'Angry All Blacks'

    New Zealand 12-7 Georgia

    Chris Jones

BBC 5 live rugby commentator at the Millennium Stadium

"Georgia have started incredibly bravely. But it has only served to prod the All Black bear and make them even more angry."

  67. Try

New Zealand 12-7 Georgia (Savea, missed con Carter)

    Sit down.

Julian Savea rattles the fillings of Georgia's try-scorer Beka Tsiklauri with a bulldozing shoulder charge to get in at the corner.

Some neat, quick hands from the All Blacks got the ball out to the wing.

Dan Carter's kick drifts just wide.

    Julian Savea
  68. 'Explosive Naholo'

    New Zealand 7-7 Georgia

    Chris Jones

BBC 5 live rugby commentator at the Millennium Stadium

"To give a bit of context, Waisake Naholo broke his leg in August and was almost certainly out of the World Cup.

"But he had a bit of alternative treatment and has made a rapid return. He was explosive there, he took Georgia apart."

    Waisake Naholo
  69. Converted try

New Zealand 7-7 Georgia (Tsikilauri, con Malaguradze )

    Well, well, well.

Waisake Naholo spills the ball forward at the end of a charge into the red shirts and it is Georgia full-back Beka Tsiklauri who reacts quickest, hacking ahead and strolling in with a grin as wide as the river Taff,

Georgia celebrate after scoring their try
  70. Converted try

New Zealand 7-0 Georgia (Naholo, con Carter)

Nothing wrong with that broken leg now.

Waisake Naholo shows the pace and power that made mincemeat of Super Rugby defence while playing for the Highlanders this season, slicing through the Georgia defence 40m out and shrugging off Alexander Todua to go in under the sticks.

Dan Carter pops over the extras.

    Waisake Noholo scores a try

It may have only been a ripple on your rugby radar but Georgia's 17-10 win over Tonga in their opening game caused a much bigger splash back home.

"I spoke with my parents and friends and they said all of Tbilisi, which is quite a large city with over one million people, were sounding their car horns, waving their flags, drinking and celebrating," said captain Mamuka Gorgodze.

A famous victory that might well guarantee Georgia an automatic spot at the next World Cup.

Three of the top eight tacklers in the tournament so far are Georgians.

Viktor Kolelishvili, on the bench tonight, has made more tackles than any other player with 35.

Mamuka Gorgodze sounds like the name of the ogre king of a far-off kingdom.

The World Cup reality is scarcely less terrifying.

The Georgia captain, who plays his club rugby for Toulon, is known for his "uncompromising" style of play. He is opposing Richie McCaw on the open-side flank and how that battle goes will have a big bearing on how the evening goes.

Injury news, extraordinary as it is, have been the most notable dispatches sent home by the Kiwi journalists so far.

The defending champions make steady, assured progress through Pool C.

After a hiccup of a first half, they saw off Argentina 26-16.

And here he is back in the side.

All hail mother nature in her infinite and unknown bounty?
