Two from two for Tigers

So, Leicester came from behind to eventually beat a tough Harlequins side thanks to Laurence Pearce's late try.

Tigers now join Saracens at the top of the Premiership, as the only two sides with two wins from their first two games.

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill tells BT Sport:

"It is a good result. A pretty average performance.

"Quins probably should have taken the draw but they kicked for touch and we got out of it.

"We are still trying to develop and grow. There are going to be some teething problems along the way.

"The score at the end is the only one that matters so we're delighted with the win. We'll take it."

From a lineout five metres out, Leicester replacement Laurence Pearce gets over the line and looks to have given Tigers the lead.

They refer it to the TMO to check it was grounded safely, and the officials are happy.

That all came about from an excellent, precise kick into touch from Owen Williams from inside his own half to give Leicester that lineout, and Williams kicks well again to convert the try.

It is advantage Leicester all of a sudden!

Harlequins spread the ball wide with pace - but too quickly for Marland Yarde. He drops a relatively easy catch and Leicester have possession back again.

Referee Tom Foley goes to the TMO to check if a late tackle from Quins' Joe Marler is worth a card, but there is nothing doing, so Tigers simply have a penalty and they kick long for territory.

The hosts are five metres out. They could really use a try right now.

Quins send a decent grubber kick down the touchline for Marland Yarde to chase, and Tommy Bell does well to get there first and usher the ball out of play. But the Tigers fly-half pays a painful price for his defensive work, as he crashes into the advertising boards. He is replaced by Matt Smith and Owen Williams will play at number 10 for the hosts.

Harlequins make up some good yards through Nick Easter and they win a penalty, which Nick Evans kicks from just inside the half-way line to give them a four-point lead.

Harlequins make good yardage with a powerful driving maul, and then spread the ball out wide, but they spill a quick pass and the chance for a try is wasted.

Quins make five changes, bringing on captain Danny Care, Joe Marler, Nick Easter, Joe Gray and Kyle Sinckler. How big a boost will that give the visitors?

Leicester steal the ball from the resulting Quins lineout, and now the hosts have possession inside the Quins half.

Leicester struggle to make any ground though, and eventually concede a scrum.

Eventually Leicester get the ball out and Mathew Tait kicks long into the Quins half.

The game has slowed to a crawling pace. Someone needs to inject a bit of life into proceedings.

Leicester play with an advantage and put up a high ball for Mike Williams to run onto, who almost claims it close to the try line, but he can't hold onto it, so we will go back for the penalty, to be kicked by Tommy Bell.

We are currently seeing a brief pause while Leicester second row Mike Fitzgerald receives treatment, before a Leicester scrum on half way.

Referee Tom Foley feels Harlequins hooker Dave Ward didn't release quickly enough, and Tommy Bell steps up to restore a three-point lead for Leicester.

Quins director of rugby, Conor O'Shea, won't be pleased with a couple of silly mistakes which have led to Leicester's penalties.

Harlequins' Karl Dickson is deemed to be offside as the ball comes out of that scrum and so from the resulting penalty, Tommy Bell easily kicks the first points of the afternoon, right under the posts.

Leicester force the first spell of pressure, surging forward through Tommy Bell. They edge towards the try line but Bell is held up by some last-ditch defending and the buffer of the post. We'll have a Tigers scrum five metres out.

Neither side has kept the ball for any great deal of time yet, with possession exchanging hands frequently.

Quins' Matthew Luamanu is receiving treatment after a big hit, but he looks fine to continue. For Leicester, Seremaia Bai is temporarily replaced by Owen Williams, because he has some blood on his face.

Tommy Bell kicked 23 points for the Tigers in their 28-16 victory at London Irish.

Harlequins meanwhile held off a last fightback from Wasps and recorded a 26-21 win at Twickenham Stoop.

Someone's 100% record will have to go today...but whose?

Harlequins make one change to the side which beat Wasps, as England international Mike Brown comes in for Ollie Lindsay-Hague at full-back.

Danny Care returns to the bench after a back spasm and England captain Chris Robshaw will be considered for selection next week.
