  1. Two from two for Tigers

    FT: Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

So, Leicester came from behind to eventually beat a tough Harlequins side thanks to Laurence Pearce's late try.

Tigers now join Saracens at the top of the Premiership, as the only two sides with two wins from their first two games.

For more, read Brent Pilnick's match report here.

  3. Reaction

    FT: Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill tells BT Sport:

"It is a good result. A pretty average performance.

"Quins probably should have taken the draw but they kicked for touch and we got out of it.

"We are still trying to develop and grow. There are going to be some teething problems along the way.

"The score at the end is the only one that matters so we're delighted with the win. We'll take it."

Quote Message: It wasn't the free flowing game we hoped for. Overall I think it was job done for Tigers in the end. They'll take the points."
  5. Reaction

    Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

England and Leicester Tigers hooker Tom Youngs tells BT Sport:

"We were under a serious amount of pressure in the second half.

"We dug ourselves out of a hole. The crowd got us through towards the end there.

"It is good to be back with our clubs now."

Quote Message: Great driving maul to score and win the game, but the defence at the end there was massive."
  7. Full-time

    Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

Leicester safely get the ball away from danger and then steal the ball from a Quins lineout. The clock goes dead and the whistle goes. Tigers have fought back to win a very, very tight game thanks to Laurence Pearce's late try.

    Laurence Pearce
  8. Replacement

    Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

As they face this crucial scrum, 17-year-old scrum-half Ben White comes on for Tigers replacing Adam Thompstone.

  9. Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

The ball is held up and Harlequins condede a penalty, just a few metres from the line. Have Leicester just won this game? They now have the put-in, at a five-metre scrum.

  10. Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

Quins win a penalty that is within kicking range for a 22-22 draw, but they opt for a five-metre lineout instead. The game surely hinges on this passage of play.

  11. Post update

Quote Message: Tigers need massive defence now to keep them out."
  12. Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

The visitors kick deep into the Leicester half and have a lineout, 20 metres from the try line. Can they find the try they need?

    James Horwill
  13. Replacement

    Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

Tigers bring on Harry Thacker for hooker Tom Youngs.

  14. Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

Now can Harlequins respond, having led since before the break? They have just over five minutes to do so.

  15. Post update

    Louis Deacon

former England & Leicester lock on BBC Radio Leicester

Quote Message: Typical Tigers always leaving it late."
  16. Try (Pearce, con Williams)

    Leicester 22-19 Harlequins

From a lineout five metres out, Leicester replacement Laurence Pearce gets over the line and looks to have given Tigers the lead.

They refer it to the TMO to check it was grounded safely, and the officials are happy.

That all came about from an excellent, precise kick into touch from Owen Williams from inside his own half to give Leicester that lineout, and Williams kicks well again to convert the try.

It is advantage Leicester all of a sudden!

  17. Leicester 15-19 Harlequins

Harlequins spread the ball wide with pace - but too quickly for Marland Yarde. He drops a relatively easy catch and Leicester have possession back again.

  18. Leicester 15-19 Harlequins

Leicester concede possession from the lineout, very cheaply, and Harlequins kick long, to relieve that pressure. Chance wasted for the hosts.

  19. Post update

    Louis Deacon

former England & Leicester lock on BBC Radio Leicester

Quote Message: I think that was the right call. You've just got to keep putting pressure on Quins now until you come away with something."
  20. Leicester 15-19 Harlequins

Harlequins are holding their ground, for now. Leicester are piling on some real pressure though, and they have another lineout five metres out.

  21. Leicester 15-19 Harlequins

Referee Tom Foley goes to the TMO to check if a late tackle from Quins' Joe Marler is worth a card, but there is nothing doing, so Tigers simply have a penalty and they kick long for territory.

The hosts are five metres out. They could really use a try right now.

  22. Missed penalty (Evans)

    Leicester 15-19 Harlequins

The visitors win a penalty within range, but Nick Evans drags his kick wide. Could that miss come back to haunt Harlequins?

  23. Post update

    Louis Deacon

former England & Leicester lock on BBC Radio Leicester

Quote Message: It's a shame really because Tommy Bell was having a good solid game. His kicking was excellent."
  24. Replacement

    Leicester 15-19 Harlequins

    Tommy Bell

Quins send a decent grubber kick down the touchline for Marland Yarde to chase, and Tommy Bell does well to get there first and usher the ball out of play. But the Tigers fly-half pays a painful price for his defensive work, as he crashes into the advertising boards. He is replaced by Matt Smith and Owen Williams will play at number 10 for the hosts.

  25. Penalty (Evans)

    Leicester 15-19 Harlequins

Harlequins make up some good yards through Nick Easter and they win a penalty, which Nick Evans kicks from just inside the half-way line to give them a four-point lead.

  26. Replacement

    Leicester 15-16 Harlequins

    Mike Williams

Tigers bring on Laurence Pearce for Sebastian de Chaves and switch Mike Williams into their second row.

  27. Leicester 15-16 Harlequins

Harlequins make good yardage with a powerful driving maul, and then spread the ball out wide, but they spill a quick pass and the chance for a try is wasted.

  28. Replacement

    Leicester 15-16 Harlequins

Quins make five changes, bringing on captain Danny Care, Joe Marler, Nick Easter, Joe Gray and Kyle Sinckler. How big a boost will that give the visitors?

  29. Leicester 15-16 Harlequins

Leicester steal the ball from the resulting Quins lineout, and now the hosts have possession inside the Quins half.

Leicester struggle to make any ground though, and eventually concede a scrum.

    Adam Thompstone
  30. Leicester 15-16 Harlequins

Leicester have a scrum in their own half, and it has to be re-set multiple times. How long will Referee Tom Foley's patience last?

Eventually Leicester get the ball out and Mathew Tait kicks long into the Quins half.

  31. Replacement

    Leicester 15-16 Harlequins

England's Dan Cole comes on for Leicester, to warm applause from the home fans. He replaces Fraser Balmain.

  32. Penalty (Bell)

    Leicester 15-16 Harlequins

The kicking from both number 10s has been almost flawless so far and this time Leicester's Tommy Bell reduces the deficit.

  33. Leicester 12-16 Harlequins

That was not the start to the second half that Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill will have wanted. Tigers have possession in the Harlequins half now, as they look to turn things around as quickly as possible.

  34. Penalty (Evans)

    Leicester 12-16 Harlequins

Leicester give away a penalty immediately, and Nick Evans strikes his kick cleanly between the posts to extend Harlequins' lead.

  35. HT: Leicester 12-13 Harlequins

Leicester prop Marcos Ayerza will be in action for Argentina in about an hour's time for their World Cup semi-final against Australia.

But first we've got an intriguing second half on our hands here at Welford Road. The players will be back out shortly.

Quote Message: I think Richard Cockerill will tell Leicester to try and keep the ball a bit more and impose a bit more pressure on Quins. When Leicester are more direct and go forward and get quick ball they look very dangerous."
  40. Half-time

    Leicester 12-13 Harlequins

That is the end of the first half and it is Harlequins who lead, largely thanks to a try from flanker Jack Clifford, who has been impressive so far.

  41. Missed penalty (Bell)

    Leicester 12-13 Harlequins

This time Tommy Bell's kick strikes the upright, and Harlequins hold onto their advantage.

Plenty of Quins fans have high hopes for the 22-year-old try-scorer.

  43. Leicester 12-13 Harlequins

Leicester win yet another penalty, just within kicking range for Tommy Bell. Can he kick the hosts into a half-time lead?

  44. Leicester 12-13 Harlequins

Quins prop Adam Jones takes a knock to his ribs, and is getting some treatment on the field.

But the visitors will be delighted with how they improved as this game has gone on, after a slow start.

  45. Post update

    Louis Deacon

former England & Leicester lock on BBC Radio Leicester

Quote Message: Leicester need to speed up the game a bit. They look a lot better when they're being direct and playing with pace."
  46. Try (Clifford, con Evans)

    Leicester 12-13 Harlequins

From the lineout, Harlequins eventually cross for the first try of the game. The ball is popped up to Jack Clifford, two metres out, and he dives over for his first try of the season.

Nick Evans then duly converts to give the visitors the lead for the first time in the game.

    Jack Clifford
  47. Leicester 12-6 Harlequins

From the scrum, Harlequins win another penalty. They take a look at the angle to kick for the posts, but they opt to kick for the corner.

  48. Post update

    Louis Deacon

former England & Leicester lock on BBC Radio Leicester

Quote Message: Scrums just takes too long out of the game. We need to find a way of speeding it up. It becomes frustrating for the spectators."
  49. Leicester 12-6 Harlequins

The officials agree it was a knock-on, but Tigers' Adam Thompstone is not given a yellow card. Harlequins have a scrum, five metres out.

The game has slowed to a crawling pace. Someone needs to inject a bit of life into proceedings.

  50. Leicester 12-6 Harlequins

Harlequins break forward and hooker Dave Ward is held up two metres out. A few phases later, Quins are still denied, metres from the line. Leicester's Adam Thompstone looks like he may have knocked on, intentionally. We are going to the TMO to check.

  51. Post update

    Louis Deacon

Quote Message: I want to know why Michael Fitzgerald is allowed to wear bright orange boots? I wasn't allowed to wear them."
  52. Penalty (Bell)

    Leicester 12-6 Harlequins

Tigers fly-half Tommy Bell has no trouble kicking the hosts back into a six-point lead.

That's four out of four from the 22-year-old so far this afternoon.

  53. Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

Leicester play with an advantage and put up a high ball for Mike Williams to run onto, who almost claims it close to the try line, but he can't hold onto it, so we will go back for the penalty, to be kicked by Tommy Bell.

  54. Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

Now Harlequins lock James Horwill is being patched up by the medical team. He looks like he'll continue. Leicester have a lineout inside Quins' half.

  55. Penalty (Evans)

    Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

Now Nick Evans steps up to close the gap for Harlequins from the tee. There has been a sizeable lack of discipline so far.

  56. Penalty (Bell)

    Leicester 9-3 Harlequins

Tommy Bell kicks an absolute monster of a penalty from more than 50 metres out, and makes no mistake. The hosts extend their lead.

  57. Post update

    Louis Deacon

former England & Leicester lock on BBC Radio Leicester

Quote Message: I'd like to see a bit more line speed from Leicester. It looks like they're standing off at the moment."
  58. Leicester 6-3 Harlequins

There has been plenty of kicking for territory so far, and little in terms of running with the ball.

We are currently seeing a brief pause while Leicester second row Mike Fitzgerald receives treatment, before a Leicester scrum on half way.

  59. Penalty (Bell)

    Leicester 6-3 Harlequins

Referee Tom Foley feels Harlequins hooker Dave Ward didn't release quickly enough, and Tommy Bell steps up to restore a three-point lead for Leicester.

Quins director of rugby, Conor O'Shea, won't be pleased with a couple of silly mistakes which have led to Leicester's penalties.

    Conor O'Shea
  60. Penalty (Evans)

    Leicester 3-3 Harlequins

Nick Evans kicks Quins level almost immediately after Tigers are penalised for being offside.

  61. Penalty (Bell)

    Leicester 3-0 Harlequins

Harlequins' Karl Dickson is deemed to be offside as the ball comes out of that scrum and so from the resulting penalty, Tommy Bell easily kicks the first points of the afternoon, right under the posts.

  62. Leicester 0-0 Harlequins

Leicester force the first spell of pressure, surging forward through Tommy Bell. They edge towards the try line but Bell is held up by some last-ditch defending and the buffer of the post. We'll have a Tigers scrum five metres out.

  63. Post update

    Louis Deacon

former England & Leicester lock on BBC Radio Leicester

Quote Message: I think Bai caught an elbow in the face. It looked pretty nasty."
  64. Leicester 0-0 Harlequins

Neither side has kept the ball for any great deal of time yet, with possession exchanging hands frequently.

Quins' Matthew Luamanu is receiving treatment after a big hit, but he looks fine to continue. For Leicester, Seremaia Bai is temporarily replaced by Owen Williams, because he has some blood on his face.

  65. Leicester 0-0 Harlequins

Leicester win an lineout and some early territory, but concede a penalty and Harlequins have the put-in for the first scrum of the afternoon.

Leicester are penalised again at the scrum though, and Quins have possession.

  66. Post update
