  1. Leicester 16-19 racing 92

Right, so there will be a new name on the trophy on 14 May, when Saracens of England play Racing 92 of France in Lyon. The last three titles have been won by France, no English side has won it since Wasps in 2007. It will, I'm sure, be interesting.

  2. Post update

Racing 92 fly-half Dan Carter: "It's an amazing achievement. This competition was a big part of the reason I wanted to come and play in France. We knew it would come down to the last minute because Leicester are a quality side, very fit.

"Winning the final would be a dream come true. It's been an amazing four and a half months, but that would top things off. Saracens are a quality side, the form side of the tournament, but I'm looking forard to it."

  3. Full-time

    Leicester 16-19 Racing 92

Not a great game, but there was plenty of tension, which might have explained why there were so many mistakes. That's some half-back pairing Racing have, Machenaud and Carter, they never really lost control all afternoon.

  4. Full-time

    Leicester 16-19 Racing

The clock ticks into the red and Leicester are in their own 22 after a suffocating restart by Carter... Betham takes a long pass under his own posts, but Racing's defenders are all over them... the whistle blows, Racing penalty, that's that, it's Saracens v Racing 92 in the Champions Cup final in Lyon on 14 May.

  5. Try (Veainu)

    Leicester 16-19 Racing

Owens' heart will be in his mouth as Betham bursts through, but the attempted offload goes awry. Good late surge by Leicester, but they need two scores and the clock is ticking. Space out right, Betham to Thompstone, back inside to Veainu, who scores. Over go the extras form out wide, this makes it interesting...

  6. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Nice work by Veainu, breaking out of his own 22 with some ferocity... nice hands, Imhoff knocks on, and it might be ruled deliberate... wow! It turns out he didn't even touch the ball, it just looked like it because it was such a poor pass by Betham. Nigel Owens has some grovelling to do - "my sincere apologies" - as Richard Cockerill smiles and shakes his head up in the stands. Leicester scrum...

  7. Leicester 9-19 Racing

Leicester trying to keep it alive but it eventually goes forward from Youngs to Croft. Machenaud has taken one to the orchestras, that looks painful. Welshman Mike Phillips is on in his stead, Goneva has made way for Adam Thompstone for Leicester.

  8. Penalty (Goosen)

    Leicester 9-19 Racing

Carter with the Garryowen and we've now got some blocking from Tigers. Croft the blocker, Imhoff stopped from challenging Veainu. Goosen is the man with the longer cannons and he might have just killed the game off with that booming penalty...

  9. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Leicester penalty, a welcome one, Williams thumps downfield. Not clean at the line-out but Munipola cleans up. Forward again by Tigers, Goosen kicks deep, Tait with a great clearance on the gallop... this is getting very tense...

  10. Leicester 9-16 Racing

It's a penalty to Racing, Kitchener adjudged to have rolled Ben Arous away around the neck. This time it's Racing who knock on, it hasn't been a classic, I think we can safely say that...

  11. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Tuilagi snaffled again, Carter has been superb in defence. But here he is with a knock-on, the former All Black trying to rip the ball away in the tackle. Good attacking foundation, this, scrum in the middle, and it's a Leicester free-kick... that's another handling error, this time from a combination of Betham and Cole, just not good enough. Ben Arous of Racing and McCaffrey of Leicester both receiving treatment...

  12. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Thacker finds Kitchener at the line-out, but this time it's Tuilagi with the handling error. Not seen much of him today, Racing have done a number on him - 13m made in seven carries. Goosen is back on. Not sure how that's allowed, the camera clearly showed he was out for a second. Good shove Tigers, Williams breaks with the try-line begging, but he knocks on. Again.

Andrew Priestley:  That disallowed try is a huge let-off for Leicester Tigers with that forward pass. Racing Metro still have all the momentum in this game though.

    Eddy Ben Arous
  14. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Racing bashing away at the Leicester line but Tigers win the penalty, man not moving away. Williams with the touch-finder, line-out on halfway...

  15. Leicester 9-16 Racing

That looked like curtains for Leicester but they're alive and kicking heading into the final quarter. Leicester swing it left, gain some yards, but it's one pass too many again and Carter kicks for territory. The story of the Tigers' day so far. Goosen off for a bang on the head, looked like he was out cold, if only for a second. Tales on for him at centre.

  16. Disallowed try

    Leicester 9-16 Racing

Wow, that mistake by Tait looks even worse now. Rokocoko drifts right, Goosen runs a great line, carves through the Leicester defence and dives over... however, we go back for a forward pass from the back of the scrum, from Masoe to Machenaud, and that's a huge break for the Tigers...

  17. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Croft fails to take a pass with Goneva outside him, Racing scrum. Carter eats up the ground with his clearance, Tait beats one man coming back, but that's a horror pass inside. This is Leicester's for the taking, but their accuracy just isn't there at the moment.

  18. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Dumoulin is off with what appears to be a dislocated shoulder, Dupichot is on in his place in the centres. Racing line-out, clean take, Machenaud with the clearance... looks like Rokocoko has in fact moved to centre, we haven't seen much of him since the opening exchanges.

  19. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Williams sized up the goal-kick but opted for touch instead. That really was tremendous from Thacker, a back-of-the-hand offload as he was falling into a tackle. Leicester have their tails up now but that's a great double-tackle from Carter, the second dragging Goneva into touch.

  20. Leicester 9-16 Racing

Cole wrapped up by Welshman Charteris, but what an offload that is by Thacker and Leicester win the penalty from the resulting ruck...
