  1. Exeter 27-23 Wasps

... But the move peters out and Exeter are able to get the ball clear. All a bit nervy at Sandy Park? It sounds it...

  2. Exeter 27-23 Wasps

The clock ticks past the 70-minute mark at Sandy Park and we have a four-point match on our hands.

Jimmy Gopperth's touch-finder, meanwhile, pins Exeter back deep inside their own half.

And Wasps steal the line-out too! They're up to the 22...

  3. Penalty (Gopperth)

    Exeter 27-23 Wasps

Jimmy Gopperth lands the kick and this Premiership semi-final is still very much in could-go-either-way territory.

    Jimmy Gopperth
  4. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

The penalty count is starting to look very unfavourable indeed to Exeter, who infringe again, this time at the base of a ruck.

Jimmy Gopperth asks for the tee, to close the gap to four pars...

  5. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

Quote Message: Wasps need to get it away from the forward areas as quickly as possible. Their talented backs can cause problems but Exeter are more than capable of holding their own in the forwards. from Geoff Foster BBC Coventry and Warwickshire

  6. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

Jimmy Gopperth, straining every sinew to try to send the ball as close to the corner as possible, ends up winging out beyond the Exeter line. An error from the Wasps fly-half.

But from the resultant scrum the visitors win yet another penalty, which Gopperth this time finds touch with successfully.

  7. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

One thing we haven't seen too much of is reset scrums - which Greg Garner is very kindly putting right for us now.

The first one collapses... And then Wasps win a penalty from the next.

  8. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

    Olly Woodburn

Olly Woodburn claims a high ball forward and moves Exeter up to halfway. This match has just become a little bit of a stalemate, almost as if both teams are content with the current situation.

Meanwhile, the league's top try scorer Thomas 'The Tank' Waldrom is onto the field to a rousing reception. It'd be sort of fitting if he was to play a significant role in the closing 20 minutes, wouldn't it?

  9. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

Jack Nowell is the man to lose patience, the Exeter Chiefs wing electing to run... And run straight into the sizeable frame of George Smith. A huge hit.

  10. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

This second half hasn't been quite as free-flowing and entertaining as the first, as the two backlines exchange kick after kick after kick. Who'll budge first?...

  11. Exeter 27-20 Wasps

Quote Message: Exeter are having problems in the scrums so here come the replacements. A completely new front row for the Chiefs. from Nigel Walrond BBC Radio Devon

  12. Penalty (Gopperth)

    Exeter 27-20 Wasps

Jimmy Gopperth lands the relatively straightforward kick to reduce the arrears to seven points once more, as Exeter ring the changes to bring on an all-new-look front row.

  13. Exeter 27-17 Wasps

    Elliot Daly

Where next in this semi-final tussle, then?

In the short-term, Wasps have a penalty after Harry Williams concedes a penalty at the scrum. To the corner or to the posts? Jimmy Gopperth has his mind made up...

  14. Exeter 27-17 Wasps

Quote Message: Wasps had handled Dave Ewers so well today but from the ruck the big man picked up the ball and swatted a few Wasps players away. Chiefs back in the lead, and a great time to score whilst Wasps are a man short. from John Lockyer BBC Radio Devon

  15. Try (Ewers, con Steenson)

    Exeter 27-17 Wasps

    Dave Ewers

Dave Ewers has the try - and just look at that celebration! Ewers, and the Chiefs, know what a big score that is, as all the replacements pile on to celebrate.

The Exeter forward uses every inch of his frame to slam his way over from close range and stretch Exeter's lead out once more - which is extended further still by Gareth Steenson's conversion.

  16. Penalty (Gopperth)

    Exeter 20-17 Wasps

    Jimmy Gopperth

Kiwi fly-half Jimmy Gopperth makes no mistake and Wasps are back within three points of their hosts, despite being a man down.

Olly Woodburn leaps like a salmon to superbly claim the restart, however, and so Exeter are back on the front foot.

  17. Exeter 20-14 Wasps

And now Exeter have been pinged at the scrum too, allowing Jimmy Gopperth a relatively straightforward kick at goal...

  18. Exeter 20-14 Wasps

Quote Message: Wasps have six and a half more minutes to survive with 10 men and they're playing in the right area of the pitch at the moment. from Clive Eakin BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire
Clive EakinBBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire
  19. Exeter 20-14 Wasps

This could well be an interesting opening passage of play, with Wasps now aided by the wind in Devon but a man light, with Carlo Festuccia still in the bin.

Christian Wade's kick down the Exeter left is spilled by Gareth Steenson, so Wasps have the scrum.

    Jack Nowell
  20. Kick-off

    Exeter 20-14 Wasps

Jimmy Gopperth's peg gets us under way, Exeter gather under the high ball and Will Chudley sends a box kick upfield.
