    Nice and straight.

  2. Post update

    Jonathan Davies

Former Wales international on BBC One

Italy need to chase the game now, but they have only threatened from the line-out.. France can go for it.

    Remy Grosso
  3. Post update

    France 21-10 Italy

Replacement Nicola Quaglio doesn't quite have the impact Conor O'Shea would have wanted. The prop is pulled for offside inside his own half, and France will go for goal.

This could be game, set and match.

  4. Post update

    France 21-10 Italy

On comes a Kiwi, for Italy. Jayden Hayward enters the Italian backline as the visitors chase the game.

Just under 20 minutes to play in Marseille, and at the moment, Italy are on their way to the wooden spoon.

  5. The boys done good

A sign of the Test to come?

Scotland's under-20 side have come back from 17-7 down at half-time to beat their English counterparts 24-17 at Myreside.

The senior side will doubtlessly take note.

  6. Converted try - France 21-10 Italy

    Hugo Bonneval, con Machenaud

    Oh wait.

That is a lovely try! Mathieu Bastearaud makes yet another break down the centre, Remy Grosso avoids the touchline by some dark art and his inside pass sends Hugo Bonneval over the whitewash. FINALLY.

Maxime Machenaud adds the conversion and France have a bit of daylight.

Gareth David: Can a once great rugby nation be this bad?

Tom Sharp: This game is, let’s be honest, absolutely dire!

  9. Post update

    France 14-10 Italy

    Jonathan Davies

Former Wales international on BBC One

There wasn't much structure at the start of the game, there's even less now.

  10. Post update

    France 14-10 Italy

Italy attempt an attack. The initial line-break from Sebastian Negri is magical, but Wenceslas Lauret and Sebastian Vahaamahina are all over the isolated blue shirt and Wayne Barnes' whistle is inevitable.

Off goes Yacouba Camara for France, he's had a big game tonight.

    Everyone enjoying the game? Ah.

Dai Trembath: France who’ve been a tier 1 nation for far longer than Italy are genuinely appalling, despite leading

Phil McDonald: Italy and France are two seriously poor teams. Not much else to say really

Patrick Brennan: You can tell these are the two worst sides in the tournament....

  12. Post update

    France 14-10 Italy

    Jonathan Davies

Former Wales international on BBC One

Italy can't build pressure, they can't maintain possession, go through the phases and create the extra man.

  13. Post update

    France 14-10 Italy

There's the kicking game we've been waiting for from Lionel Beauxis. The fly-half's cross-field punt is taken in by wing Benjamin Fall, but yes, you guessed it, another knock-on.

Mattia Bellini is beaten by the kick but he lines up Fall and forces the error. A great read by the Italian winger.

    As you were.

  14. Post update

    France 14-10 Italy

Perhaps Brian Moore was right, this one is going a bit dry.

We're at the scrum, and it's taking a while to get right. Wayne Barnes eventually awards Italy a free-kick, but their attempt to lift the tempo draws an immediate knock-on.

Back to the scrum it is. Even Sebastian Vahaamahina looks reluctant to bed down. And the crowd are clearly bored too.

  15. WATCH: Waterman scores England's final try

    Scotland women 8-43 England women

It's been a while since we've had a try in Marseille, so here's one from the Women's Six Nations earlier in the evening in Glasgow.

England ran out 43-8 winners over Scotland, and the defending champions remain unbeaten in this year's tournament.

    France 14-10 Italy

    Jonathan Davies

Former Wales international on BBC One

What are they doing? France are making so many basic errors. Sebastien Vahaamahina is so ill disciplined, he's all over the maul.

  17. Penalty - France 14-10 Italy

    Tomasso Allan

Is that a dive from Sergio Parisse? The Italian captain is taken out off the ball, and the big man milks it a bit on the floor.

But he's back on his feet, after a helping hand from referee Wayne Barnes.

Tommaso Allan meanwhile, against a backdrop of boos from the French crowd who thought it was a knock-on, reduces the deficit.

    France 14-7 Italy

And there's the next error. Wayne Barnes screams "TAKEN BACK" before France smash that ball out on the full.

But Italy's problems at the line-out continue, France pick one off and they might get out of jail here. Yacouba Camara has been dominant in the air this evening, he's right in front of the lifter and that's an easy pick-off.

  20. Penalty - France 14-7 Italy

    Maxime Machenaud

An odd decision. France have a penalty coming and Lionel Beauxis tries a rash drop-goal. He looked like a clumsy centre-half there lashing at the ball as it came in from the corner. Needless to say, it was well wide.

Thankfully, Maxime Machenaud has a better effort from the tee and France extend their lead.
