Andrew Priestley: Wales you lucky, lucky dogs. The French’s game management with 14 men was so, so poor. They put themselves in great positions, but chose the wrong execution each time. Where were the drop goal attempts? Wales will get battered in a SF playing like that

Kieran: France go out due to indiscipline #quellesurprise

Andy Thomas: I thought the rip was forwards. The game should've been put to bed by then though. France only have themselves to blame

  2. 'What a win'

    FT: Wales 20-19 France

    Tom Shanklin

Former Wales international on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Wales celebrate

Brilliant by Wales to get themselves back into that game. What a win. What character shown by that Welsh team. They've been through a lot together and that really showed. It doesn't matter about the performance, it's the result, it's knockout rugby. It took them 75 minutes to get themselves into the lead but you'd be proud if you were in that team. Absolutely brilliant.

  3. One of Wales' greatest results

    Wales 20-19 France

    Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales at Oita Stadium

    Wales

Warren Gatland is arguably the greatest coach in Wales' history and, although that was nowhere near the best performance of his glittering reign, it ranks as one of his most significant results.

Wales are through to only a third World Cup semi-final, and the sense of relief here in Oita is palpable.

    That was too much.

  4. Revenge

    FT: Wales 20-19 France

    France

Eight years after Wales, down to 14 men, lost by one point to France in a Rugby World Cup semi-final, they have claimed victory over Les Bleus by the same margin following Sebastien Vahaamahina's dismissal.

Nice symmetry to that isn't there?

  5. Full-time

    Wales 20-19 France

Wales made heavy weather of it, but they are into another Rugby World Cup semi-final!

  6. Post update

    Wales 20-19 France

Wales claim the ball and now it is one-out slow phases to wind down the clock....

  7. Post update

    Wales 20-19 France

And a penalty for Wales at the set-piece!

The lid is surely being hammered into place as Dan Biggar kicks into the France 22m.

France are going to have to go from the longest-range if they are to win this...

First they need to steal the ball though.

  8. Post update

    Wales 20-19 France

This scrum is taking an age. A couple of resets. Maxime Medard heads off to be replaced by Vincent Rattez.

Patrick Brennan: Can only assume Wales must have used every ounce of luck available to them today!

  10. Biggar fired up

    Wales 20-19 France

    Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales at Oita Stadium

The ball goes dead and Dan Biggar waves at the Wales fans behind the try line, urging them to roar their team on for these crucial final few minutes.

  11. Post update

    Wales 20-19 France

Maxime Medard kicks the ball long, long and over the dead ball line.

Their best chance is to get dead-eyed Camille Lopez into drop-goal range.

Instead we are heading back for a scrum red on halfway.

  12. 'France not playing any rugby at all'

    Wales 20-19 France

    Matt Dawson

England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

Have we just gone back to February? A re-run of France obliterating a side in the first half to capitulating and not playing any rugby at all. None. What on earth did they say at half-time?

  13. 'That's going to be talked about for a long time'

    Wales 20-19 France

    Tom Shanklin

Former Wales international on BBC Radio 5 Live

What a scrum! Wow! You talk about instances in games where you come together as a unit and focus on the job in front of you, and that was that. But that's a decision that's going to be talked about for a long time. Is it forward?

  14. Converted try - Wales 20-19 France

    Moriarty (con Biggar)

    TRY! IS! GOOD!

And Dan Biggar hoofs over the conversion from bang in front to put Wales in front for the first time in the match.

Fashionably late, but Wales might have just booked a ticket to the last four.

    Wales try
  15. Try review

    Wales 13-19 France

Tomos Williams ripped the ball out of the grasp of the France flanker Charles Ollivon...but did the ball float forward en route to Ross Moriarty?

The video officials cannnot find a clear angle. The on-field decision is a try. This is looking good for Warren Gatland's side...

  16. Try review

    Wales 13-19 France

    TRY! TRY! TRY!

Ross Moriarty is over! Or is he. We are going to a review...

    Wales try
  17. 'Imagine how France feel'

    Wales 13-19 France

    Matt Dawson

England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wales may well be feeling the pressure but imagine how France feel right now. It's last man standing, they are off their feet and they are going to make poor decisions.
