  1. Good night - and enjoy Wimbledon 2day

The sprinklers shower water over a dusky Centre Court, which means it's time to sweep up and clock out. It's been another comfortable day for Andy Murray and Roger Federer, while Novak Djokovic's Wimbledon future is in the balance.

The women will take centre stage tomorrow, of course. Well, sort of. Novak Djokovic and Kevin Anderson will be sharing the limelight somewhat. Thanks, as always for joining us. More of the same tomorrow?

If you've not had enough of tennis, you can tune into Wimbledon 2day, which will be showing highlights for another 30 minutes, and is available in this page.

  2. Court One order of play

Those heading for Court One tomorrow have received a Willy Wonka-style golden ticket as Novak Djokovic and Kevin Anderson will resume their tussle. Could the defending champion be knocked out?

Whether he does or doesn't, Garbine Muguruza and Timea Bacsinszky will follow his match, with Madison Keys and Agnieska Radwanska bringing women's quarter-finals day to an end.

  3. Tuesday's order of play

Maria Sharapova and Coco Vandeweghe kick off the day on Centre Court and will be followed by Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka. That could be tasty.

  4. Rain, rain, rain

    Wimbledon weather

Rain clouds will be looming threateningly over SW19 for much of tomorrow, giving us little respite from the watery drops. Those on Centre Court need not worry, but elsewhere it might be a stop-start kind of a day.

  5. Play suspended - bad light

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

    John McEnroe

Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

"What changed was Anderson realised he could win this match and that mindset puts the stress on you and you start to think 'can I actually win this?' Djokovic just kept on working."

  6. Play suspended - bad light

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

    John McEnroe

Three-time Wimbledon champion on Wimbledon 2Day

    Novak Djokovic

"Novak Djokovic wanted to play on, but when they called it he did not seem perturbed. Very professional. Kevin Anderson is thoroughly pleased to still be in the tournament."

  7. Play suspended - bad light

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

    Tracy Austin

Two-time US Open champion on Wimbledon 2Day

"I would have wanted to switch to Centre if I was Djokovic. Even if I was Kevin Anderson. Who would want to go home?"

Jonathan Lansansa: That's why Djokovic is world number 1 never right him off 2-0 to level it at 2-2!!!

King Welsh: Djokovic is the master of making you work. HARD TO BEAT.

James Harry: Novak is a tank true champion sure to cruise through that decider tomorrow.

  11. Post update

    John McEnroe

Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

"Anderson came out and meant business. He had a big lead. We did not anticipate that Anderson would be so effective against the great Djokovic."

  12. Post update

Djokovic and Anderson to resume on Court One, but rain is forecast on Tuesday and it's a court without a roof. It could be a frustrating day for the defending champion and the South African.

  13. Play suspended - bad light

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

    Richard Krajicek

1996 Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"I think this is fair what they do now. It's about crowd control as well. These people have tickets for court one and you can't move crowds of people on Centre court.

"Although queuing is the British national sport, I'm sure of it."

  14. Get involved via #bbctennis

Jack Blackburn: Days and nights like this are why these are the two most special sporting weeks of the year.

James Routledge: Djokovic will win the 5th set comfortably! I'm saying 6-2.

  15. Play suspended until Tuesday

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

    Peter Fleming

Seven-time Grand Slam doubles winner on BBC TV

"That is why it is so difficult to win a Grand Slam event. You have to win three sets off the best."

  16. Play suspended - bad light

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

    Richard Krajicek

1996 Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"I told you he would show emotion after the fourth set.

"My money is on Novak. The way he fought back was so impressive. Anderson's arms will be sore and he's going to be thinking how Novak came back into this."

  17. Match to resume on Tuesday

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

Djokovic and Anderson pack up and leave, or Anderson disappears while Djokovic adds his signature to all sorts of merchandise. Who would get your vote in a one-set shoot-out? The big serving Anderson or the defending champion with infinite reserves of willpower?

  18. Play suspended - bad light

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson

Boos echo around Court One. "Play some more," they scream - but the umpire tells the rowdy spectators that play will be suspended until Tuesday because of the fading light. More hissing. It's turning into a pantomime.

  19. Game and fourth set

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 Anderson*

    Djokovic

The net on Centre Court is being removed, which means there certainly be no play on the Big Daddy of courts this evening. Spectators chanting on Court One, their cries muffling into one so it's difficult to know who they're cheering. Two set points Djokovic and he seals it with a brilliant forehand winner. The defending champion is back in business.

  20. Post update

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 5-4 Anderson

Boris Becker decked in a red tracksuit top and cream sweatpants, looking like a member of a Roger Federer fan club. Reports filtering through that they won't be moving this match to Centre Court, which means the final set will probably be played on Court One tomorrow, but we're still waiting for official confirmation. A hold to 15 for Anderson.

  21. Post update

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 5-3 Anderson*

    Djokovic

Points short and sharp, with the player on serve dominating. Anderson troubles the Serb with one return, Djokovic ruefully smiles, but it's a simple hold to 15.

  22. Post update

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 4-3 Anderson

    BBC Radio 5 live

Andy Murray - British number one on BBC Radio Five live:

"Djokovic has had his hands full. Kevin is a good grass-court player, and a good server. Conditions are slowing which will help Novak.

"I was getting asked after the draw 'you've got to beat Tsonga, Rafa Nadal and then Roger Federer and then Novak'. I don't know why people do that. No one can predict every result in a Slam."

  23. Post update

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 4-3 Anderson

Djokovic sees his ill-timed backhand return trickle over the net and he raises his racquet in acknowledgement of his good fortune. It's the only point he collects from the Anderson serve, however. That early blip from the South African in this set could prove to be very costly.

  24. Post update

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 4-2 Anderson

    Richard Krajicek

1996 Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"Djokovic is starting to have fun. He senses it's going his way. Anderson feels it's slipping away and he's panicking a bit. Even though Anderson is up, Djokovic is having more fun."

  25. Post update

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 4-2 Anderson*

An outswinger from Djokovic which aces Anderson. Is that too American Nevermind. The Serb holding to love, neither player troubling on the returns in these last three games.

  26. Post update

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 3-2 Anderson

    Peter Fleming

Seven-time Grand Slam doubles winner on BBC TV

"One of the things Boris Becker and Novak Djokovic will have spoken about many times is to just keep fighting. Becker will say: 'you are stronger mentally and physically than anyone out there. You need to force them to maintain a level of intensity that only you have experience of'.

"Right now it seems like Anderson is fatiguing just that bit, but just enough so that Djokovic is in the rallies."

  27. Post update

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 3-2 Anderson

Much chat about whether this match will be transferred to Centre Court. The net is still up on Centre, officials are still on court and there's a crowd gathering, but no official confirmation. Play continuing on Court One for now, however. Anderson holding to love, but perhaps it's a little too late in this set.

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 3-1 Anderson*

Precise serving from Djokovic, picking his spot, taking aim, and getting the rewards. The defending champion holds to love and a fifth set seems inevitable.

  30. Two Murrays into last eight

    Murray/Peers 6-3 7-6 (8-6) 6-7 (5-7) 3-6 8-6 Pospisil/Sock

    Jamie Murray

The Murray family are celebrating a quarter-final double tonight. After world number three Andy cruised into the last eight of the singles, his older brother Jamie moved into the same stage of the men's doubles.

Murray and his Australian playing partner John Peers earned a five-set win over defending champions Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock in three hours and 19 minutes.

Murray v Pospisil. That's got a nice ring to it....

  31. Djokovic breaks

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 2-1 Anderson

Court One groans, and understandably so, as Anderson messes up a serve and volley when the court was at his mercy. 15-15. Djokovic unable to dominate as he did in the third set, but he does earn a break point, which Anderson saves with a serve and volley. Djokovic shakes his head. How did I let that one go? Boris Becker looks on intensely. Second break point Djokovic... Anderson forced to reach to his toes, and that's too low down.

  32. Le Tiss is gripped

    Boris Becker

Pullovers and scarves being worn on Court One to keep the cold at bay from spectators adjusting to a sunny afternoon to breezy summer's evening. Delightful from Djokovic. A backhand passer, low and out of reach, for 40-30, but Anderson holding firm as they trade blows on the next point - and it's Djokovic who folds. Deuce.

Anderson hitting either glorious winner or frustrating errors. Back and forth from deuce and advantage until Djokovic closes out with an ace.

Tom: Everyone knows the outcome of this game, even after Anderson went 2-0 up. Even Anderson himself knows this!

BHF26: It's a shame Anderson has lost momentum. Hopefully that will turn around back in Anderson's favour, to grind out one more set.

Default Girl: If Anderson wants to cause an upset he needs to snap out of this lull in the 4th. If it goes to a 5th forget it.

  35. Post update

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 0-1 Anderson

Lights fading across London, but Anderson flickering to life once again. A crunching serve out wide sees the scoreboard rolling to 40-15. But the South African throws in a double fault - his sixth of the match - and Djokovic's eyes widen. Anderson flaps at a forehand. Deuce. Advantage. Deuce. Advantage. Crackerjack of a serve. Game Anderson.

    Richard Krajicek

  38. Post update

    Peter Fleming

Seven-time Grand Slam doubles winner on BBC TV

  39. Game and third set

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 Anderson*

    Anderson

Djokovic has flicked a switch, engines roaring and is preparing for liftoff. He takes little time to comprehensively outclass Anderson in the third set. Twenty-four minutes, in fact, and there's light at the end of the tunnel.

  40. Djokovic breaks

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 5-1 Anderson

Anderson needing to dig deep if he is to win this in three sets. Djokovic, though, with feline speed around the court, a crosscourt backhand winner on the opening point. The Anderson serve, his lethal weapon, faltering, as is his forehand. Three break points to the defending champion.

Anderson chalks one off. but Djokovic works his way around the court magnificently on the next point, ending with a cool backhand volley.

  41. Post update

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 4-1 Anderson*

    Marion Bartoli

    2013 Wimbledon champion

  42. Post update

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 4-1 Anderson*

Job done. Now Anderson needs a break of Djokovic's serve. Not a chance. The Serb, eyes focused on the bare baseline as he bounces his ball, nails his first serve at 40-15, leaving Anderson struggling to control his wayward return.

  43. Post update

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 3-1 Anderson

"I cannot afford to lose serve here. I cannot afford to lose serve here." That's what Kevin Anderson will be telling himself as he strides back out with ball in hand. Probably.

The 14th seed does not lose his serve, calmly sending a forehand winner at 40-30 scurrying down the line.

  44. Post update

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 3-0 Anderson*

Move along quickly, little to see here. Djokovic polices his serve well, forcing Anderson into forehand errors in a routine hold to love.

  49. Djokovic breaks serve

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 2-0 Anderson

And Anderson's serve buckles at the first opportunity in the third set. Djokovic skulks into a break-point avenue, somehow sticking his strings on a mammoth Anderson serve, the South African overcooking the forehand return.

That first set was the first that Djokovic has dropped at Wimbledon since he won last year's final (vs Federer). He has not dropped two sets in the same match since last year's quarter-final (vs Cilic) and has not gone two sets down since losing the 2013 final to Murray. I know all of this because the lady behind me keeps tapping me on the shoulder to ask.

We will see Lleyton Hewitt no more at SW19, not in his Wimbledon whites at least, because the Australian and his partner Casey Dellacqua have lost their mixed doubles match. The pair fell 0-6 6-3 6-3 to ninth seeds Juan-Sebastian Cabal and Cara Black.

    Peter Fleming

"I think we will see that when both players tire just a little on serve, the serves won't be bombing down at quite the same power and perhaps as Anderson's nerves fatigue a bit, his willingness to go for the lines will ebb and I think we will start to see Djokovic put more returns in play."

  88. Djokovic breaks back

    *Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 2-3 Anderson

Let's see what Kevin Anderson is made of then. A hold here will put him well on the way to clinching the second set. Not that we're ruling Novak Djokovic out even then. Never rule out Novak Djokovic.

Anderson whittles away a 40-15 lead, a double fault allowing Djokovic back in at deuce. Then the South African crumbles. He lets a return go, only for technology to inform us that it dusted the baseline, then clubs a forehand well wide. Turning point?

    Djokovic 6-7 (6-8) 1-3 Anderson*

Oh my word. What is going on? Kevin Anderson snatches a couple of break points early in the second set...one goes begging but not the second! A rip-roaring forehand return of serve leaves the Serb scrambling, allowing the South African to move into the net and volley the winner. Court One stunned.

Djokovic is not enjoying himself out on Court One this fine London evening. The Serb is rocking, furiously swatting at a vicious Anderson serve which almost knocks him backwards like a skittle at your local bowling lane. Some powerful forehand strokes - after a second serve of 120mph - puts the South African within a point of the game, only for Djokovic to force deuce. But Anderson ramps up the mph again, serving out the game with another ace.

"Also, when you are playing Karlovic you have to adapt quickly because the serve is coming from such a great height and then it is bouncing up on the hard ground but Murray has the skills and dexterity to adapt to that.

"To play Pospisil in the quarter-finals is a fantastic draw. Andy will respect him but I expect him to win that one as well."

  129. "Tough match against Pospisil'

But the 26-year-old levels at 30-30, thunderous forehands nicely doing the job. Oops. Murray breaks a string in his racquet on an iffy first serve, he changes his weapon... silence on Centre... Murray in trouble, though. Backhand into the tape. Set point Karlovic.

And Murray balloons a forehand into the tramlines. Sharp intake of breath from some spectators, Murray smashes his racquet during the changeover. What a surprise.

Murray aiming the ball at Karlovic's toes, trying to get the Croat to uncomfortably reach low. But even though Karlovic occasionally falters, his serve is such a powerful tool that he gets out of trouble with ease.
