    Karlovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (7-9) 6-6 Bedene*

Ivo Karlovic holds. Aljaz Bedene holds. Repeat to fade, basically.

The two players are still locked, level on sets and level on games in the decider.

Karlovic has now surpassed 100 unreturned serves. Bedene is still leaping about like a gazelle.

Will it ever end? Who knows.

As an aside, does anyone else think Bedene looks like Tim Henman? Just sayin'.

  2. Post update

    Azarenka 3-6 5-2 Bellis*

Azarenka's classy serving back to the fore as Bellis can't really get near it and the former world number one is a single game away from levelling this one up.

  3. Watch Medvedev's winning moment

Watch the moment unseeded Daniil Medvedev of Russia sent fifth seed Stan Wawrinka crashing out in the first round.

    Karlovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (7-9) 4-5 Bedene

One spectator has fallen asleep on court three (in the stands, not on the grass). We won't embarrass her by screen grabbing it.

She might want to wake up, though. Ivo Karlovic is serving to stay in the match.

  5. Post update

    *Azarenka 3-6 4-2 Bellis

Bellis also does more than just stop the rot, bringing up two break points against a weary-looking Azarenka.

The Belarus star defends brilliantly though, the highlight a perfectly-placed drop shot as she withstands a barrage to hold.

Confident response from Bellis, though, claiming an easy hold. This one still in the balance.

  6. Post update

    Karlovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (7-9) 4-4 Bedene*

Ivo Karlovic's 42nd ace of this match nearly took the line judge's head off, poor love.

Just like Aljaz Bedene in the game before, the 21st seed holds to love.

    We're level again. Go figure.

  7. Four hours later...

    Karlovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (7-9) 3-4 Bedene

A love service game for Aljaz Bedene gives the British number three a narrow lead in the decider.

We're not sure how long this can go on for tonight with the light fading, but we've just hit the four-hour mark.

    Aljaz Bedene
  8. Post update

    *Azarenka 3-6 3-1 Bellis

Two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka is playing her first slam since giving birth in December.

The former world number one was on the back foot against American Catherine Bellis early on, giving up the first set 6-3.

She hit back to reel off three straight games to start the second set but Bellis has just stopped the rot, holding serve to make it 3-1.

  9. Konta powers through to the second round

Watch Johanna Konta's match-winning point against Hsieh Su-Wei.

  10. Post update

    Karlovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (7-9) 2-2 Bedene

Ivo Karlovic powers down his 40th (yes, 40th. Four zero. Fortieth) ace of the match on his way to another hold of serve.

We're about to hit the four hour mark and we're still all square. Two sets all and 2-2 in the decider.

  11. 'I knew I had a chance'

    Medvedev 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-1 Wawrinka

More from Daniil Medvedev: "I have had a really great grass court season and I knew Stan had some problems at Queen's. I knew I would have a chance if I played well.

"In the third and fourth set especially, I think, I was playing amazing.

"Already at 5-1 I started thinking about what to do after the match and I kissed the grass because it was my first grand slam win, even though people do it when they win Wimbledon."

Dan Rawlinson: Karlovic/Bedene. Anyone else thinking Isner/Mahut?

    Don't even go there...

  13. Post update

Here's a taste of some of the entertainment on Centre Court, where Medvedev and Wawrinka certainly gave the fans their money's worth.

  14. 'Wimbledon is my favourite'

    Medvedev 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-1 Wawrinka

Daniil Medvedev speaking on BBC Two after beating Stan Wawrinka: "Right now I don't even know what to say, I'm just very happy, my first win at a grand slam.

"Wimbledon is my favourite, it was in my juniors and still is.

"I was saying yesterday to my friends that, one year ago, I was 215th in the rankings and if someone told me I'd win, let alone play, on Centre Court, I'd say you were joking."

  15. Post update

    Karlovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (7-9) 1-1 Bedene

We thought we were about to sound the break of serve klaxon for the first time in this match but no, Ivo Karlovic decides to muck it up and Aljaz Bedene holds. Again.

At this match heads for a fifth hour, Jelena Ostepenko's contest with Aliaksandra Sasnovich has been moved to court 18. Probably for the best.

  16. Medvedev stuns Wawrinka

    Medvedev 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-1 Wawrinka

    John McEnroe

Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Medvedev didn't go overboard with his exuberance when he won, out of respect for Wawrinka. The result is not really shocking considering the circumstances coming into this match. It was always going to be tough for Wawrinka. It's going to be a very tall order for him to ever get deep into this event again. But the up side for Medvedev is extremely high.

  17. Game and fourth set

    Karlovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (7-9) Bedene

We're in for a long night here.

Britain's Aljaz Bedene has snatched the fourth set against Ivo Karlovic so we're going to a decider.

Still no break of serve from either player in three hours 40 minutes.

    Set four
  18. Game, set and match - Medvedev

    Medvedev 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-1 Wawrinka

Just when you thought he was out, Stan pulls himself back in.

Medvedev looks to be cruising to game, set and match but the Swiss seed pulls it back to deuce.

Huge ace from the Russian to get the advantage and set up match point.

And then Wawrinka pumps a return long. He's done it! Daniil Medvedev shocks the fifth seed Stan Wawrinka in four sets on his Wimbledon debut.

Slightly muted celebrations from the 21-year-old, perhaps given the knee injury Wawrinka was struggling with throughout. But what a performance. Terrific composure.

  19. Post update

    John McEnroe

Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

This is the most beautiful tennis court in the world, the biggest tournament and Wawrinka is a a first ballot hall of famer - yet he doesn't want to be out there. We hope it's mainly because of whatever injury he is suffering from,.

    Stan Wawrinka
  20. Medvedev serving for the match

    *Medvedev 6-4 3-6 6-4 5-1 Wawrinka

It's a unique sound, the murmurs and gasps on Centre Court as a big-name player goes to pieces in these glorious surroundings.

Wawrinka has mentally checked out here, making error after error and saving the worst for last as he smashes a relatively easy chance into the net to lose a game to love on his own serve.

Cue those aforementioned murmurs. They shift to huge applause for Medvedev soon enough as he rises, ready to serve for the match.
