Kyle Edmund, speaking on court: "It was a bit of a tough match, mentally, playing Andy but I had to try to view it as another match. It's always nice to come through like that.

"I've looked up to Andy so much and he's looked after me and really been good for me so it's a bit of a weird feeling. I was a bit nervous towards the end.

  7. The jitters?

    Stuart Fraser

    The Times sports journalist

Well, well, well. Kyle is going to feel the jitters I'd imagine. That was quite a cheer for Andy - the crowd don't want to go just yet. That was quite a passage of play. I think Andy is moving rather gingerly - it would be a tough ask for Andy if it did go to the third.

  8. Murray holds

    *Edmund 6-4 5-4 Murray

That's such a good serve out wide from Murray.

He's got himself another game point - and he'll take it as Edmund works a forehand long!

    Stuart Fraser

    The Times sports journalist

Kyle looks very comfortable now, he has certainly not used as much energy as Murray has. He is two games from the win - I'm not going to go as far as saying it is a passing of the torch but it is a significant moment in British tennis.
