Great story and everyone will now know the name Paul Jubb.

For him it's been a wondrous summer - first winning the college championship, then getting a first top 100 win and now picking up a set at Wimbledon.

Regardless of the result, Paul Jubb can hold his head high tonight. After an opening set to forget, he rallied fantastically, buoyed by the crowd, and proved himself to be a real star of the future.

The British public know his name now. They know his story and they will be backing him all the way.

As for Grandma Jubb, she will be chuffed.

The entertaining Fabio Fognini, who has played a fair few five-setters in his time, has just seen off the promising American Frances Tiafoe in an epic on court 18 which lasted three hours and 23 minutes.

  12. Post update

    Sousa 6-0 6-3 6-7 (8-10) 4-1 Jubb*

Another game gone. Paul Jubb is running out of time here. He may not even get his winnings as he has a scholarship at a US university, whose rules ban him from claiming more than $10,000 a year. But he has shown the world what he is capable of and gained a large following.

Can he fight back from this one? It's going to be some recovery if he can. Sousa two games from round two.

    Paul Jubb

  15. Sousa breaks in the fourth

    *Sousa 6-0 6-3 6-7 (8-10) 2-0 Jubb

Now this is a test. Sousa dances into a 2-0 lead very early on in set four.

  16. Post update

    Miles Maclagan

Former British Davis Cup player at Wimbledon

Sometimes it's hard to keep up your energy after a tie-break as the intensity drops.

It takes mental endurance to keep going.

    Paul Jubb
  17. Post update

After the highs of that tie-break, Jubb is love-30 down in his first service game of set four.

  18. ‘We love you!’

    Sousa 6-0 6-3 6-7 (8-10) Jubb

    Katie Falkingham

    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Crazy, CRAZY noise as Jubb takes the set. What a moment for the guy.

“Jubby, Jubby, Jubby...” the crowd chant. “We love you!” a fan shouts.

Midway through the tie break, a fan started waving a Yorkshire flag. Why didn’t he wave it earlier! As a Yorkshirewoman myself, I loved it!
