  1. Goodbye!

So, it is back to focusing on the singles now for Andy Murray. At least that means he won't be facing older brother Jamie again for the foreseeable.

A strange old match in Cincy, with the specialist doubles pair eventually coming through.

Now they will face Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek - who they lost to in the first round at Wimbledon - in the semi-finals.

Thanks for your company. Sithee later!

  2. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 4-10 J Murray/Skupski

    Russell Fuller

    BBC tennis correspondent in Cincinnati

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski now have the chance to win a first title together over the weekend. And Andy has at least one day to prepare for his second singles event since January. Will play either Sunday or Monday in Winston-Salem.

  3. Game, set and match - J Murray/Skupski

    A Murray/Lopez* 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 4-10 J Murray/Skupski

And they need just the one. Neal Skupski keeps his nerve to land an overhead, Andy Murray unable to return to safety.

Big win for Jamie Murray and Skupski. Andy Murray's doubles career is over for the time being.

A pat on the side for Andy from Jamie, accompanied by a 'well done'.

  4. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 4-9 J Murray/Skupski*

Feliciano Lopez is muttering away to himself. This match is slipping away from Team Andy as the Spaniard coughs up a couple of double faults.

Team Jamie sprint back to the baseline, they sprint away with the decider...

    FIVE match points...

  5. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez* 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 4-7 J Murray/Skupski

    Daylight...

  6. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 4-5 *J Murray/Skupski

...or a superb winner from Skupski. The Brit brilliantly swerves out of the way of a body serve and guides a backhand winner down the line...

  7. Post update

    *A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 3-4 J Murray/Skupski

Nothing separating these two teams yet. Might take a crow bar to wedge them apart...

  8. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 3-2 J Murray/Skupski*

    Still on serve. Tight.

  9. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez* 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 1-2 J Murray/Skupski

We've started this like we started the second set. On serve.

  10. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 1-0 J Murray/Skupski

Where are you putting a dollar? Hmmm. It is a tough one.

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski have improved as the match has worn on, although it took that double fault from Lopez to ultimately separate the two teams in the second set.

Lopez appears a little tetchy but Team Andy start the decider with a hold...

  11. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 J Murray/Skupski

The decider, in case you're not a regular follower of doubles, is a first-to-10 match tiebreak.

That will begin when the DJ presses stop on the country music blasting out of the sound system.

  12. Game and second set - J Murray/Skupski

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 J Murray/Skupski

A little bit of pressure of 15-15 is eased when Lopez whacks a backhand into the net... but it creeps back on Skupski when the Scouser mistimes a smash. 30-30.

Jamie Murray springs into life with a jack-in-a-box volley for 40-30... set point...

Skupski lands a first serve down the middle and Andy Murray sends a forehand into the net.

    Into a decider!

  13. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-6 J Murray/Skupski*

Right then. Neal Skupski serves for the second set and to take this quarter-final into a decider...

  14. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-6 J Murray/Skupski*

And rather like a rollercoaster, we've had a quick change of direction which might be leaving Feli Lopez's stomach turning.

The Spaniard suddenly loses his way on his service game, in no small part to some wonderful returning from Murray senior, and Team Jamie have four break points...

Three cannot be taken. The fourth? Handed over on a silver platter. Lopez aggressively goes for a second serve at deuce, spraying it wide and handing over the break.

  15. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-5 J Murray/Skupski

    Russell Fuller

    BBC tennis correspondent in Cincinnati

This match is being played in the shadow of the Kings Island amusement and water park - where Andy and Nick Kyrgios went on the rollercoaster last year. I’m told it’s National Rollercoaster Weekend, so what are you waiting for? Park stays open until 10pm.

  16. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez* 7-6 (7-5) 5-5 J Murray/Skupski

Nope. Jamie Murray holds again. As comfortable as a new pair of slippers. The game is sealed when Andy Murray tentatively bats a backhand into the net and looks up to the clear Cincy sky in frustration.

  17. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 5-4 *J Murray/Skupski

Right then, now we're at the business end of the set.

Andy Murray holds his serve to leave the Queen's champions just one game away from the match.

They're not going to break though. Are they?

  18. Post update

    *A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 4-4 J Murray/Skupski

Finally! Andy Murray wins a receiving point!

That ends a run of 20 successive points for the server. It was a beauty as well, Murray junior quickly changing direction to poke a stretching, no look forehand between his opponents.

Ultimately it means little though. Hold to 15.

  19. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 4-3 J Murray/Skupski*

    Russell Fuller

    BBC tennis correspondent in Cincinnati

What a set of serving so far. Seven games gone, only one point won by the receivers.

  20. Post update

    A Murray/Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 4-3 J Murray/Skupski*

Guess what? Yep, you're right. Hold to love.

    Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V.

The only variable is Jamie Murray getting a whack on the left ear by a ball after Neal Skupski misjudges from Feli Lopez's serve.
