  2. 'I don't put on the image of a perfect life'

Pita Taufatofua, the Tongan flag-bearer who swapped taekwondo for skiing, competes tomorrow in the 15km event.

"I wake up at 4am, go out on these roller skis and people are supporting. So I can't let people down, I have to keep trying," he told BBC Sport.

"I am not going to win, I had 12 weeks. The miracle was to get here. I do it because there are people who are inspired by this story.

"Publicly, I show all my failings as well - I don't just put on this image of a perfect life."

  3. Medals galore on day six

Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal, who tore his ACL in January 2016, became the oldest Olympic alpine skiing champion at 35, courtesy of downhill gold.

Mikaela Shiffrin, who is challenging for four golds in Pyeongchang, got off to a flying start with a win in the giant slalom.

And Ragnhild Haga was the clear winner after a stunning run in the women's 10km freestyle.

Daniel Gosbee: After a tough start, what a fantastic end to the match, come on team GB.

Lucy Jones: Well done ladies! Best lunch hour for a while!

Tim Symes: Oh My. Phew. Sighs of relief all round. Team GB girls beat China 8-7. Right, let's have a lie down.

  5. Ups & downs for GB curlers

    Curling

As curling mania carries on sweeping - sorry - the nation, here's what went on today.

Great Britain's women have played twice today. They lost 7-4 to the United States after some bold, tenth end tactics didn't pay off. They've just wrapped up a neat victory against China, though.

  6. Post update

Shall we have a quick round up of what's been happening today? Why not...

  7. 'GB showed real resilience'

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 8-7 China

    Jackie Lockhart

Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

That was a real difficult game for GB there, and they showed real resilience in the second half of that game.

As a skip, you're so focused about the game in hand, so you don't have time to falter. Eve Muirhead delivered that final stone very well, but the whole team performed very well in the whole latter half of the game. They've proved their worth, and that will stand them in good stead for the rest of the competition.

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 8-7 China

Don't worry Laura - your local pasty shop will still be open. And they'll be less of a queue.

Chris Sims: The fact that I don't fully understand the rules is only making this China v GB curling match even more nail-biting.

Laura: Was going to run errands during my lunch break. But I watched the curling instead...

  10. Post update

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 8-7 China

That's why Eve Muirhead is paid the big money. (Note: we don't actually know how much any of them are paid.)

Cool as, er, ice. That's Britain's second win from their three matches so far and puts them on course to progress from the group stage.

  11. 'We can all breathe a huge sigh of relief'

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 8-7 China

    Steve Cram

    Curling commentator on BBC TV

It was oh so close, but GB come out with the win by one, and now we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief.

  12. Post update

I'm not good at this tense business. I threw tea down myself halfway through that...

Eve Muirhead's side are up to second place as it stands! They're next in action on Saturday, when they play Denmark ad Korea.

  13. GB win!

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 8-7 China

China skip Bingyu Wang guides down her team's final stone... slap bang middle of the bullseye.

Here we go then... Eve Muirhead to win the match. All she has to do is hit it on the nose...

Nailed it! Whoops and grins are slapped all over the British faces.

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 7-7 China

The rest of the arena has cleared out after South Korea wrapped up their match on the sheet next door.

Is that the caretaker hovering about? Don't turn off the lights yet. We're still playing over here...

Britain's penultimate stone takes out China's central guard. This is going down to the final fling...

SMS Message: Curling is fantastic. After the Vancouver Games in 2010, I talked a group of colleagues into travelling hours out of our way to try the sport at Fentons Rink in Tunbridge, which, at the time, was the only rink in England. We went back a number of times. It's even more fun to play than to watch! from Ed Ponte

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 7-7 China

The first half of the sudden-death end is all about jostling for position, and ends with two Chinese stones standing alone in the house.

China stick a guard on the centre line, which Anna Sloane then takes out - along with the one next to it. Lovely stuff.

    Advantage Britain? You betcha.

Debbie Srao: COOOOME ON TEAM GB! Who knew curling could be nail biting! Come on girls you can do this!

  19. Parsons in medal contention

    Skeleton

Britain have a sniff of a skeleton medal, thanks to Dom Parsons' efforts earlier today.

At the halfway stage, the Briton is in fouth, just 0.03 seconds behind Latvia's Martins Dukurs, after setting a combined time of one minute 41.26 seconds in Pyeongchang.

The third run takes place at 00:30 GMT on Friday before the final run at 02:15.
