Mildenhall Fen Tigers have cut Nick Laurence from their line-up and brought in 15-year-old Adam Portwood.
Laurence has been axed from the club after collecting just 12 points in his six meetings this season.
March-born Portwood arrives fresh off a second place finish in last month's first round of the British Youth Championship in Somerset.
"Nick has had his chance but hasn't really taken it," said co-promoter Michael Lee.
"So we decided to give someone else a go.
"Adam has impressed me hugely over the last few weeks. He has come on in leaps and bounds getting faster and faster.
"Part of what we are trying to achieve at Mildenhall is to give youngsters a platform to start their careers and Adam deserves the opportunity we are giving him."
The Tigers will face Newport Hornets in the semi-final of the Knock Out Cup if they overcome Hackney Hawks on Saturday.
Mildenhall go into the second leg of the tie with a 28-point advantage from the first meeting.
