Speedway: Chris Mills bemoans Ipswich Witches away form
Ipswich Witches rider Chris Mills has accepted his side have let themselves down on their travels this season.
The Suffolk club, who sit fourth in the Premier League, are the highest point scorers in the division but have the worst away record of the top five.
In contrast the Witches have taken more points at home than any other outfit.
"At the start of the year there was so much promise and we haven't quite lived up to expectations on the road," Mills told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"It's not through a lack of trying, I think we've just got to knuckle down and hopefully we can win something.
"We've got a busy weekend coming up so hopefully if we can get some points away it will give everyone a bit of confidence and get the supporters behind us again.
"We need to keep pushing for the league, we want to win something this year."
Ipswich will be looking to progress to the quarter-finals of the Knock Out Cup when they host Scunthorpe in the first leg of their replayed meeting on Thursday, with the return fixture 24 hours later.
