The Lakeside Hammers have re-signed Swedish rider Jonas Davidsson.
The 28-year-old was part of the Hammers 2010 line-up but had opted to concentrate on riding in Sweden and Poland this season.
However, he has decided to re-join the Essex outfit, and will return to the line-up for Friday's Elite League match at home to Birmingham.
Co-promoter Jon Cook said: "We are all delighted to have JD [Jonas Davidsson] back with us."
Cook added: "His keenness to get over here and start racing is great news for us. It's a big boost for us ahead of another must-win meeting."
The Hammers line-up has been depleted recently with Stuart Robson, Adam Shields and Piotr Swiderski all injured.
The side had to use two guest riders and the rider replacement facility in last week's 66-26 win over Peterborough.
Friday's fixture with Birmingham is the Hammers last of the regular season, but they hope to reach the Elite League play-offs and are still in the Knock-out Cup.
