Speedway: Stars make light work of Robins

King's Lynn Stars cruised to a 58-37 victory over Swindon on Wednesday to leave the Robins still searching for their first win of the season.

Swindon's Scott Nicholls top scored overall (15) but Niels Kristian Iversen (12) and Kenneth Bjerre (11) led the way for the home side.

"Collectively as a team we did very well," Stars team manager Rob Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"Six out of the seven boys were on it, a terrific performance."

The Robins were up against it from the start with captain Simon Stead absent with an injury he picked up after a fall in Poland last week.

Nicholls and Maciej Janowski (11) failed to find support from their team-mates, with the rest of the line-up failing to score over five.

Conversely six out of seven of the Stars squad recorded hauls of eight or more.

Both sides face Lakeside Hammers next, Swindon in a challenge match on Thursday and King's Lynn in a league tie on Monday.

Lyon added: "It's another meeting and we want to get the thing won and put another three points on the board.

"I feel confident we can do that providing we put in the same sort of commitment that we are doing."
