Poole Pirates rider Chris Holder is delighted to have scored maximum points in their 58-36 win over Lakeside at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.
Holder, 25, is the first Pirate to score 15 points in a meeting this season and the win moves Poole up to second in the Elite League.
"I was determined to have a good night and you can't do better than 15 points," he told BBC Radio Solent.
"We needed to get a good win and we had a pretty comfortable one in the end."
Poole face Lakeside in the reverse tie at Arena Essex on Friday, and captain Davey Watt expects the away fixture to pose a tougher challenge.
"It's going to be tough up there on Friday and we will have to work really hard to get something out of it," he said.
"If we can come back with at least a bonus point though, then that will be something."
